I was at the house of the childminder who watches my son, and had to use her bathroom and she had scales (how could I not step on them?!) I've been guessing my weight at the moment because I'm not sure... last I weighed myself I was in the US visiting my family over a year ago.

I weigh 111! I thought I weighed more! Obviously, if I lost TOO much weight, I'd probably be looking rather unhealthy. So, it is the ACT of losing weight that sways, not necessarily weight lost, right? I don't think I'd want to fall below my BMI... which right now would be... 19.72.

it's general declining health/weight - one study found that if you conceived shortly after a recent birth and you were lighter than you had been before conceiving that first child, you were more likely to have a girl
actual weight value doesn't seem to sway

    Right, okay, gotcha.

I weigh about 15 pounds lighter than I did before I had my son... probably a mixture of many things... activity, breastfeeding, etcetera.

This week is already shaping up to be the Great Week of Much Fail!
Although, stlll no breakfast. Work was bad today... I tried to keep my nibbles to a minimum...

But I will really hit it hard after all of this holiday shenanigans.

Next up is the big Christmas dinner my mother in law has planned on Friday night. That's going to be a heavy three courses. I have to work that day, as well, so I will have to eat something at work because waiting for the dinner and being awake from 5.30am would mean fainting, for sure!

suregena - when I know I have an unavoidable night of cheating ahead of me, I usually try to find a lunch with almost no sodium or protein. My pick is usually rice with just a little lemon juice or balsamic vinegar added for flavour. Plain white rice has 0 sodium and only 2g of protein per serving or 4g if you have a full cup of it - and it can really fill your empty belly and keep you going through the afternoon. Maybe you could also have an apple or something for dessert.

Ahh, very good idea. I am loving my rice right now... and I DO have a thing for lemon juice. I love putting the stuff on nearly everything. Nice! Sounds like a reasonable plan to me.

I made vegetarian tacos again tonight. Mmmmmmm...they were so good. This time I left out the beans so I could eat more without going over on protein - they were just as yummy as last time if not more so. I had 5 (!!) small tacos on no sodium corn tortillas, and so far for the day I still have only 900 calories and am well under for both sodium and protein. I guess I'll be eating a lot of empty calories tonight for my snack.... Good thing I still have half a bottle of wine in the fridge!

The great thing about rice is you can usually find microwaveable packets that have no sodium added - it makes it easy for a work lunch. I've packed a few packets to bring on my trip for sneaky, low protein/sodium lunches since I'm going to have no choice but to cheat for dinner every day.

What do you make with them? I've got corn tortillas and I LOVE MEXICAN FOOD.

Yeah, I've got some of those. Though, I have been making boil in the bag type for dinner and having half for dinner and then bringing the other half for lunch.

    Here's how I made them:

I sauteed some leeks, yellow pepper, zucchini and mushrooms for a little while, then added 1/2 can of no salt added tomatoes. I let that simmer for a while and added some cumin, chili powder and cayenne pepper. I also added some fresh cilantro right near the end. I then put some in my corn tortillas, topped each with a sprinkle of grated cheese, the put them in a warm oven to crisp up the tortillas a bit and melt the cheese. I topped each one with a bit of fresh salsa and fat free plain yogurt when I ate them. Nothing like authentic Mexican food, but sooooo yummy compared to a lot of the other bland food I eat on this diet.
