Licorice root for DH - experiences please!

He is right, they taste like living death. I had to take them once for a stomach infection and I honestly would rather have had the stomach infection.

My husband did not take licorice but I do know several people whose husbands did and they had a lot of trouble with erectile dysfunction. A couple of them started taking Viagra even. But to me, that screams, "This is working!!!"

We looked into it and it seemed like Viagra was ok for pink.

There is no way my DH would do that - he's already thinking 'long and hard' about whether he'll take the licorice root!!

I thought they smelled good but I love black licorice. My whole family liked it when I was groing up. I just told him to toughen up that was way easier than what I was having to do. I will tell him sorry now that you agreed they were horrible tasting.

They are NOTHING like black licorice. They do smell the same but the taste is a bazillion times worse. Poor guy!!!! But you are totally right, it's nothing compared to pregnancy/ giving birth!!!!!

Dh took one pill--that's it ONE! I have the whole bottle in the pantry--what a waste of money! I didn't even tell him about decreasing testosterone, just said it would help our sway. But after that one he said he felt uncomfortable taking any kind of meds that are not fda approved

(yes he's a doctor). He too has an increased sex drive and i felt like that one little pill made a bit of a difference. I keep telling him look what I have to do I'm just asking you to take a pill--men!

Hi, I have a question related to LR. I just have received mine. My question is about dose and lenght. I read in internet very scary things from a 50 mg superior dose, and the bottle (natures´s way brand) recomend 6 pills per day!!! So if every pill has 450 mg, what should I give him? He has no problem with arterial pressure but, I wouldn´t like to run him any risk anyway. I read by here to take 3 pills per day, which is over the recomend dose I read in internet too.... ALso I see differences between the acid it contains respect the weight of the dry plant extract, and don´t know if that´s the reason I have so many problems to find a safe dose...

The question related to lenght is because the bottle says 6 weeks maximum. Here is recommended to take AF-O only, but my question is: if sperm-genesis takes 60 days and the purpose of LR is low T and so to produce less sperm.... Wouldn´t we give our DH the LR since 2 months before our attempt?

I mean, if I give him AF-O the month of our attempt ( suposing I get a BFP which is nothing sure of course) these 14 days would be enough to reduce the amount of spermies that he will release for my attempt or just will reduce the production that he is "making" at this time and which be released 60 days later?

Could I give him only one pill per day starting 3 months before my attempt (so, start now) maybe it minimizes the risks on his health and ensure a low sperm production in the batch he will release and that will be "made" in a few weeks!

Also,I want to give him soy pills (one per day) and have the same question about starting now due to the production date of the batch 60 days before the attempt, and finally say that I´m going to do a 7-10 days of abstinence (I add it because I know for FR/BD low T levels would be a problem) since my DH is under 35 (well, 34

) and is healthy ( he just made himself a complete health exam with blood analisys, body organs ultrasound, effort heart test.....and fortunately he is all ok) and doesn´t work or live or stay with anything chemical or dangerous.

Oh, and I wanted to add that my grandfather has taken daily all his life since I remember him, licorice sweets, and has 3 daughters!

So maybe a low dose, but continued is also effective and is there less health risk?

update info: I´m giving to DH only ONE LR pill every morning (instead of 3 pills 6 weeks before which maybe is too much for him and do´t think he´ll take 3!!), and would like to give these 3 months to "cover" the production of sperm (made 2 months before) . Is it ok?
Only add , I´m also giving him a soy milk chocolate every night (which he has never touched before)
Is it all too much? sometimes I think yes, but then I think vegetarian people take much soy and still produces sperms and get pregnant....
