I've always had a big appetite and eat alot. Used to be 4 pieces of toast for breakfast then 3-4 pieces for lunch and then junk like chips and chocolate.
I am eating the same amount now but trying to eat better foods, more variety is that right ?

Yep you want to cut back on processed foods and eat more wholegrains/fruits and vegies
Take away is fine but just make sure you also add plenty of the good stuff too

If you lift weights, you will gain some lbs of muscle rather than fat which is good for your health and your sway, and actually can make some people look slimmer. Then, those pounds of muscle burn off more calories than pounds of fat, significantly.
The other thing is that you have to make good choices with foods so you're getting the max nutrients for the minimum calories. I know it is hard to switch from a girl-friendly diet to a boy-friendly one. I wish I had more time to make up meal plans but as it is I am already spending too much time on here. :/
Example - potatoes. Yes, they have potassium but they are also very heavy in cals and you have to slather them with butter and toppings to make them edible. Same with bananas, yes, potassium, but a lot of calories. Coconut water has MORE potassium than a banana and the same as a potato and only 75 calories.
Example 2 - juices. Instead of pop, drink juice. Drink a cup of juice cut with club soda, rather than a quart of juice. Instead of fruit juice, drink V-8 or tomato, or coconut water, or lemon water instead. All easy ways to save some cals.
Example 3 - mixing protein and carbs. You don't HAVE to do meat and bread or potatoes at every meal, you can also do something small like nuts and a cup of juice for breakfast and even for lunch if you want to. If you are gaining too much, replace all the starchy carbs like bread, potatoes, pasta, with fruits and vegetables. Honestly, I think bread can be cut entirely if you want or need to, just get your carbs from mostly veg and some fruit. So a dinner would consist of a nice piece of meat, with broccoli topped with some hollandaise sauce, and a piece of dark chocolate. That's not a ton of calories but is still nutritious and boy-friendly. Also, consider that sauces count for carbs - a pork chop with cranberry or apricot sauce, or ketchup, has carbs in it already because there are sugars in the sauce. So you may not even NEED to eat another thing with that meal, just a chop with some sauce.!!! Questions??Check out the NEW and improved Complete Index !!!
