There are very healthy and fertility friendly meat-eating diets and very healthy and fertility friendly vegetarian diets.

low cal, low protein, low fat, restricted diets (which oftentimes ARE vegan) are NOT good for fertility!

    Vegetables have ammonia too.

    and fruits

Your body actually needs and uses ammonia to perform certain functions in the body. Like anything, too much ammonia is not good but your body has hundreds of millions of years of utilizing meat as a primary source of food energy. It knows how to handle ammonia as long as you are in good health and not ingesting it like, straight from a bottle.

Atomic, do you then not suggest someone go through the hassle of trying to change around their environment to produce different ions when trying to sway pink or blue? Do you think it's a waste of time, or something that should be considered?

I have two boys, and we have tons of electronics in our house (DH works in IT), windows hardly ever open, a/c or heat always on, no plants (I always kill them, LOL!), and no fountains or running water (other than the sink and the shower!). We also sleep with our cell phones and tablets plugged in near our bed.

Should I change any of these things, or not bother? What do you think?

Sweet baby boy, you are loved and missed more than you will ever know.
There's not a day that goes by that I don't think of you and wonder what
you would have been like. I love you and miss you so much.
Rest now, my baby, in the loving arms of Jesus.

I think it's a total waste of time and money but I am not the font of all knowledge and if they are fun to you and you can afford it, I don't think they can hurt anything. However (on IG) some people were spending over $500 on ions and I think that would be money much better spent on your family's needs.

What I don't want people to do is a) think that they are making up for things like diet by "upping the ions" (like people who didn't want to do diet would just increase ions), b) postpone otherwise good sways because of ions, solar flares, moon phases and end up staying on diet for much longer than necessary and/or to manipulate their menstrual cycles to coincide with certain ion-producing events, c) stress so much over ions that they end up raising their testosterone levels, or for blue swayers, getting discouraged and overwhelmed and lowering their T levels (and if you doubt that this happens, I can link you to a dozen posts where it is amply demonstrated.). People did this all the time on IG - they were going off of and onto birth control trying to get their ovulation into the right "moon phase", postponing TTC month after month and staying on diet and supps if their O was one day later than they wanted it to be or an outbreak of solar flares happened, TTC in months that were inconvenient for their families, even limiting the amounts of months they were TTC to 1-2 a year (even women in their late 30's) and it is just not supported by the science.

WOW! That really sounds crazy! Of course, I wouldn't do any of those things you mentioned (it would all stress me out WAY too much anyway!) but do you think negative ions hold any weight at all when trying to sway pink? I mean, I wouldn't mind trying to bring some green plants into our home, running a pretty water fountain in our bedroom (sounds really relaxing, too!), and trying to in some way counteract some of the positive ions put out through the a/c, heat, and electronics in our home (any suggestions how to do that?). Would that be overkill? Helpful? Waste of time/effort?

Also, I've heard of salt lamps too...what are they? Do they have to do with ions?

No, I don't think negative ions have anything to do with swaying because X and Y sperm do not have different electrical charges and therefore cannot be attracted or repelled by ions anyway. In fact I am somewhat concerned with ions because negative ions are good for health due to their ability to and many things that are good for health actually sway BLUE, and vice versa with positive ions. But I seriously seriously doubt that a plant or a fountain in your bedroom will do anything at all to harm/help your sway and if you want to get a salt lamp or whatever, that is entirely up to you.
