Most people usually O from the right. The lefty is like a backup - if for some reason the right side doesn't/can't O, the left takes over.
It's a very strange thing and not fully understood how it all works, but you CAN conceive both boys and girls from either side. We have a study that indicates more boys are from the right, more girls from the left, but that is by no means a sure thing and it probably NOT that one ovary makes girls and the other makes boys - it's that when things are going good and you're highly fertile, the right ovary is going gangbusters and you're also more likely to have boys (prob. because of things that have NOTHING to do with your ovary, like CM!!) and when things are going not so good, maybe "righty" needs a vacation and "lefty" takes over for awhile AND then in addition to that, your CM is drier and that's what makes you more likely to conceive girls - coincidence, not cause and effect.!!! You cannot tell based on O pains, what side you Oed from. Both ovaries develop several eggs each month and only the biggest/best one or two get released. In fact, you often will have more severe O pains on the ovary you DON'T ovulate from, because when the egg is released it kind of relieves the pressure from the dominant follicle, while the other ovary remains full of half-developed eggs that then have to be reabsorbed.

I know you cannot tell based on O pains. I was thinking that when I was eating my normal rich diet I usually had O pains on the left, so perhaps actually ovulating on the right, being in a healthy state like you described before. While I was on LE diet and SP I didnīt feel my left ovary anymore, maybe because I generally was less healthy so my body didnīt make me ovulate from my right anymore, but from the left instead.
Often I have a lot of thoughts but write down only one part of itjust thinking aloud here.
