THE TWINS HAVE ARRIVED
Ava Rose and Arianna were born yesterday morning at 10:48 and 10:50 by emergency c-section. I was admitted to the hospital on Sunday after a gush of blood and had an u/s that showed an abruption around both babies placentas but was kept for observation, they wanted me to stay 1 week. Yesterday morning I took a shower/washed my hair and was feeling pretty good. The nurse came in to do a non stress test and I started to feel nauseous, she hooked me up to the monitor and went to get some anti sickness when I just had the worst pain in my stomach. I pressed the call nurse button and by the time she ran into the room I was crying in pain and throwing up. After that things started happening fast, the doctors came in, I got moved to labor and delivery. The room was full of docs and nurses but it was sort of a blur. With the pain so bad they thought I was having a complete abruption so decision was made to do a c - section right away. I was scared because I had eaten breakfast, although had thrown up a lot and I was sad because my husband was at work an hour and a half away. Got to the OR and it took 3 times to place my spinal, felt everything going numb. It was my first section and I was scared to death. I lost 3 liters of blood and it was touch and go for a while. Ava was born first and I was worried because she wasnt crying then two minutes later Arianna. I never got to touch them, they were taken straight to NICU. It took a long time to get me stabilized and I kept thinking I was having some nightmare. I was taken to recovery and had been begging to see the babies but was in a lot of pain and the nurse told me to "rest" and that I could go up later. So at 6:30pm last night I got to really look at my daughters for the first time. They are in two different nursery rooms due to space issues so I sat with Ava first and took in every detail of her perfect but small little face and peaked under her hat to see she has black hair. Then I did the same with Arianna and she surprised me with having blonde hair under her cap. It was a very scary day but so worth it. Oh, Ava is 3 pounds 7 and Arianna is 3 pounds 1. The NICU doc just told me that Ava had to get surfactant in the middle of the night to help her lungs but not to worry as it is pretty typical for preemies to need it. When I go up to see the girls after breakfast I will take some pics to post, they wont be great pics though because they have the CPAP? masks on. Thank you all who have followed me and supported me through my journey for a daughter. Who would have thought that just when I give up on ever getting my girl, I end up getting her and she brings along a sister...

I def know what you mean...I've been staying up later cause the thought of laying down in bed makes me feel miserable. Tell my dh all the time I wish I had a lazy boy to sleep in!
Thanks for posting the update on Stacey! That must have been scary for her, but glad she and the babies are doing ok.

Sorry ladies! Just too depressing when I seem to be the only one with an opposite in this thread! It's painful being on the opposite side of everyone and listen to all the stuff you get to experience and I don't, just too hard

I'm sorry coocoo...I thought there were quite a few opposites. Right now, I think most of us are going through the same stage together with the aches and pains of the last couple of months, and can help support each other with that.
For example...My dh pulled out the air mattress for me to put on the guest bed bc I was waking up with my hips in agonizing pain every morning from the pressure. I have to admit the air mattress helps, but I miss sleeping in bed next to him. Don't know if my body is going to handle 7-8 more weeks of this!

Coocoo and Ribbons- I completely understand (((HUGS))). I hope that you will both still visit this forum..even if it is just to vent about anything...aches and pains of pregnancy etc.
I personally have not been feeling so great the past few days, dizzy and nauseous at times.
Dr. said all is ok...that I need to eat and drink more. I probably need to slow down as well and try to rest. Anyone else feeling like this? Our long awaitedis here!!!!!

Haven't been nauseous or dizzy, but feeling terribly miserable :/ Can't sleep well, lots of Braxton Hicks, feeling lots of pressure. I had a dr. appt today, and he told me unless I'm having more than 4 BH an hour, it's nothing to be concerned about. At my next appt. they will check for dilation, effacement, etc...exciting that it's coming so soon!
