I haven't had my thyroid tested. Is their symptoms that could show that something is wrong with it?

Pop do you have a light in your bedroom? I know it's a weird question, but my cycles were really messed up when we were preparing to TTC my little 3yo... I read that a little light in the room could stimulate ovulation. So I slept in the dark and and put a little lamp on for the 3 days around when I wanted to O.

I did a couple of other things - added full-fat dairy into my diet and took cod liver oil, but I really think the light helped my body get the picture that it was supposed to be O'ing on a reasonable cycle day.

Lunaception is the method explaining the lighting, I think Atomic has a write-up about it somewhere on here.

I'm sorry things are so tough hun.

    Thank you GD!!

Thanks for that suggestion hon. I will pop a light on tonight and see. Next cycle if I'm not knocked up I will put the light on CD13 and see what happens!

I recommend it to everyone I know TTC because it can affect your ability to conceive so much.
I'm sure it was my extremely low thyroid function that caused me to miscarry.

With hypothyroidism the first thing that comes to mind is.. are you tired all the time.. and do you have a problem losing weight, you could have a underactive thyroid gland.
With hyperthyroidism.. I think if you are thin but eat a lot and aren't really gaining weight and your hair is falling out..
you could have an overactive thyroid gland.

At age 19 I went to the doc to get advice on diet and get on pills and he suggested my thyroid get checked..
well it ended up that I hardly had any function.

My symptoms of it being low the past year were fast weight gain, tiredness, bouts of debilitating arthritus pain, and several positive OPKS

All they do is do a blood test. It's not bad. We're used to getting poked while TTC aren't we. LOL

Here's who I want you to watch on youtube. MammaJ55
She had some M/Cs but conceived LATE in her cycle by taking soy isoflavones from like CD 1-5

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mcIXYx8lOag

That is the cycle she conceived in, in December.

I would try absolutely everything before giving up.
    I have FAITH in you!
