Also dloui, I would find out and not tell anyone if I was you. For me it's not an issue as DH really wants to know (and he has for all my pregnancies). I am honestly thinking of doing the same as NeedsaGirl, and booking one at 16 weeks and not telling anyone, so I have time to process it before people hassle me about the 18w scan.

I think I might end up doing that, I mean I can't be stressed out like this for the next 6 months I will go crazy, I will just have to keep it a secret, except from you girls I just really think they will end up telling me girl, and I need to prepare myself mentally

I have been so tempted to do the same thing Ladies...go get a private scan on my own at 16wks and then "actually" find out at 20wks. BUT I was told girl at 18wks with my last baby and then he turned into a boy by 22wks. So I refuse to go through that again. 20 weeks is the earliest for me!

Oh five babies that's awful ... I thought it was pretty much fool proof at 16 weeks. How devastating. Can def understand why you are waiting till 20weeks.

I must say that yesterday was such a tease! I have been thinking about going in for an elective u/s at 16 weeks now but just looked up youtube videos for 16w u/s for a girl...it did not look obvious enough to me!!! I would rather wait and be able to tell for SURE. lol.

I thought it was sure at 16 weeks too. I was going to get a private scan, but now I don't know what to do. If someone told me girl but it was a boy I'd be really upset.

With DS 1 and 2 we went at 22-23 weeks. Just HAD to be sure. I never got a 12 week, or 15 week scan.

My dr's office does one at 18 weeks and they say they are positive of gender by then

I believe it, DH and I didn't want to take chances. His cousin was told girl at like 15 weeks (I think), and they bought all PINK and ended up with BLUE. If I find out the exact amount of weeks I will update.
