Hi ladies! Hope everyone is doing well. I am 38 weeks 2 days and went to the doctor this morning. I’m 3cm dilated and 70% effaced. I’ve had a small amount of protein in my urine almost the entire second half of my pregnancy. Today, it tripled. My BP is stable so no issues with preeclampsia but she explained to me that proteinuria can also cause the placenta to fail which puts baby at risk (fetal demise). Well, obviously, at 38 weeks that’s not a risk she is willing to take so I’m being induced tonight. I’ve never been induced. I’ve always spontaneously gone into labor without much time to think about it. It’s been several hours and all I feel is nerves and anxiety. I want to be excited but right now that’s not how I feel. Hoping for a change in my mood and a safe, smooth delivery.

Hang in there Roedinga! I had never been induced either, but I was with Olivian because she was footling breech and has been turned via a Eversion. It wasn’t too bad- they started me out at a low dose of pitocin and worked up to a higher dose. Once I got to 7cm, I asked to have it turned off. They said they would see how I progressed. I progressed fine and delivered without anymore pitocin.
Ask to see if this can be an option for you, too. I couldn’t imagine being on pitocin during transition, since that is such a hard time on its own anyway! Honestly, the contractions on pitocin weren’t any different other than coming at a more steady rate.
Hang in there! Keep us posted! I can’t wait to see pics once you’re all settled!

*big hugs* Roe! <3 I wish you all the best! Perhaps take some clary sage with you and rub it on your belly with a carrier oil. It could help get things going naturally and the scent is relaxing. Take a warm bath before you go to destress. I hope it goes well for you hun! Keep us posted.

Hi Roe you will do great. Since this is not your first pregnancy your body should be able to handle an induction better. I had a last minute emergency induction with my first baby with max dosage of pictocin and everything went fine. Just make sure the doc does not break your water too early (wait until 7 or 8 cm) to avoid a c section if that's not what you want. Also walking and bouncing on ball really helps the labor to progress!! So stay on your feet and move around as much as possible. They can give you a mobile IV. I will be induced at 37 weeks with this baby so good luck to us both!! [emoji4]

Roe i agree with ford. I think inductions are more favourable when you've had previous children. I was induced with my 3rd and it was not what i expected. They had broke some of my waters first but nothing happened so the drip went on. A few hours later he was born.
I completely understand your feelings though. Wishing you all the best

Hi all...
So excited with all these beautiful babies...and babies to come!!!
Just wanted to pick your brains....for those of you that have had your desired gender....are you done...? Are any of you contemplating swaying again?
I’d love for my girl to have a sister....but am I being greedy....?
Other half definitely doesn’t want any more...our girl was number 4, after 3 boys...
What do you guys think about swaying again?
Would you?
Xx
