Cinss, Clomid is generally used by women with annovoluatory or irregular cycles. The doctor your friend saw is right, OPKs only indicate if you are having a surge not whether the surge will actually cause ovulation. I think the majority of people that get a LH surge will ovulate though so I don't know why the doctor would make your friend feel silly for using them.

I used to get a lot of false positive OPKs on Clomid as well so if you don't have monitoring when you take Clomid it can sometimes be hard to predict what CD O will be on.

Thanks bec, yeah maybe it was my assumption of what her doc said by the way she was telling me kind of like "oh by the way those strips dont work like you think they do, my doctor told me so".

PoP-if the two line test was positive then I would say its positive, I wouldn't worry about the smiley face, maybe the two line test is more sensitive. I used the smiley face ones and one month it gave me a false positive so maybe you had a couple bad ones. Guys can be so stupid, your DH should be happy he's getting some I mean jeez they complain when they don't get any now he's getting a lot he should be happy

Pop I wonder if the digi tests were just funky? I had a similar thing happen the month I conceived. I had my Wondfo tests go from the two lines being equal one day, the next day the test line was DARKER, and then the next day negative; all the while, I was also using a box of some other brand of OPKs (can't remember the brand, but it was a reputable one like Clear Blue Easy or something) and they NEVER got positive. I think the box was just crappy, because I obviously ovulated! I would go with the test that gave you a positive. Hope that this is your month!!

Pop I think the 2 lines is a good sign... I haven't used the smiley test but my Clearblue monitor sometimes didn't trigger until after the OPK had already picked up a surge. I would watch your temps and see what they do.

Remember this is your no-stress go round sorry about your DH being grumpy about all the lovemaking... Just tell him to enjoy it while it's hot!!!!
