I think what you're doing is the healthiest, that way you can accept earlier and be totally surprised if you're wrong.Congrats on healthy bub Mrs Incredible! I feel you on the age thing, I'm 36 (will be 37 in Dec).
Not to give false hope but I just think a turtle at 12 weeks means nothing...I remember when I used to post on IG, Charlie Cats (a u/s tech on there who was REALLY good at seeing gender early on) wrote a post about "why not to get a potty shot at 14 weeks" because she said it was totally unreliable at that stage...if it is unreliable at 14 weeks it is most DEF unreliable at 12!! I can't help but think it's still 50/50 for you, but I do think it was a smart move to tell people boy.

Do you look at your DG's baby stuff online before you know gender?
Thanks houseofblue!! The boys told their entire school they are having a Brother as an announcement of my pregnancy today, we only told them on Monday, so that saves the whole "you hoping for a girl?" conversations from even taking place. I'm up and down just now. I mean, how bloody hard can it be for a girl sperm to beat the boys, just once ...!!!???? I mean seriously. Dh will have 5 boys, surely we flipped the coin enough times lol. Ah well, just now I'm waiting on results on downs etc, so that's really my next big hurdle, all going well and I might start to enjoy the excitement of being pregnant (outwith the times I've been scanned and been amazed to see this little buba go from a blob to a fully formed baby in such a short space of time, that has been amazing & I've felt really excited that I might just get a take home baby!) Only thing is I have another front lying placenta, gutted, really wanted to feel every squirm and wriggle from my last baby, that was as disappointing as seeing the turtle, I hoped to luck out on one or both of those things, can't control a thing about pg can you!!? Xx (i will be 39 in September and baby due November!)

Aw glad you're getting excited!!
I kwym about it landing on heads just once! I always wonder how so many people get one of each, right out of the box!
Are you going to have anymore scans coming up? I'm gonna cross my fingers that whatever turtle you saw disappears, still think there is hope for sure since you're so early!FXed all the genetic tests come back good too!
I'm not excited yet about this PG, wish I could "get there". I mean it was planned and everything, but all I do is worry. My doc called yesterday and said I am a carrier for CF (so is my sister), I was never tested before since my dh is a different race and it is rare for people in his race to be carriers. Our 3 boys are totally fine so not TOO worried but now they want dh to get tested etc and I am full or worry...wish I never had it done, only reason they did it is because I am now over 35 (which makes NO sense as being a carrier of something has NOTHING to do with age!!!). I worry about something wrong w baby, worry abut gender, worry I won't be able to handle another kid, worried no one will be excited for us, etc...wow what a Debbie Downer am I lol.Mommy to

That sounds just like me this entire pg! I had little bleed this morning, suddenly I'm thinking "that's what I get for being ungrateful because of gender". Got checked and all seems well, not a scan tho, so I guess I better just suck it up and accept things. Spent ages last night looking at potty shots at 12/13 weeks. Went full circle back to it definitely being a turtle!! Feeling slightly crampy today which along with the bleed has freaked me out. Feel exhausted and can't wait til bedtime xx

Mrs Incredible, have you bled anymore?? Can you get in for a scan? Was it brown or red? Do NOT blame yourself for the bleed!! These things happen. A bleed later in PG (after 12 weeks and after seeing a good hb etc) usually doesn't mean something is wrong with baby but something else is going on, like an infection (such as a yeast infection) or a simple hematoma, etc. Later on in PG (later in 2nd tri or 3rd tri) it could mean placental abruption which is serious, my mom had it with my brother but he was fine and just born about 5 weeks early...but again this doesn't usually happen until later on in PG. I would get a scan right away to ease your mind, if they give you crap about it act CRAZY (I've done this before and been seen immediately lol). I bet all is ok, but it is always good to have a peace of mind...sending prayers to your little bean! Please keep me updated on how you're doing!!

Thanks houseofblue. It's fine now. They checked me over and found baby's hb, took a sample to check for infection. I'm picking up his hb on my Doppler it's 150-170 so feeling reassured that all is ok for now. Usually use tapatalk for this site but miss seeing the tickers!! How are you doing? Xx

Oh that's great news Mrs Incredible!! SO glad all is ok! I have a Doppler too, aren't they the best?
It got me through all of my PG's, I had many losses so was always on pins and needles.
Happy Mother's Day to you!Mommy to
