there do seem to be so many girl-mums who have a sweet tooth, almost too many that make me wonder if there are other benefits to chocolate, etc., that outweigh the "blue sway" aspects such as endorphins making the women who eat them feel more relaxed/less stressed, the dairy, the blood glucose rise/crash following sweet foods.

I do also normally eat a lot of chocolate/cake (i.e. 1bar of milk chocolate or slice of cake during the day, and then another in the evening to fill that hunger gap that nothing else fills) although I did get a boy still eating that way last time but I otherwise had a near perfect blue sway without knowing it.
I completely agree. I also think there is a HUGE negative effect on fertility that comes from a high sugar intake (unless the sugar swings are mitigated by protein/complex carbs)

Plus the data seems to indicate that at least in rats and mice, a diet high in carbs = girls and a diet with a lot of fats = boys.

Bagel and butter with ham is fine for TTC blue. I think QoH was just mentioning that she did eat a lot of simple carbs (but I would point out that butter may sway blue more than we realize)

That is totally what I think. carbs alone = girls, protein + carbs = boys.

Carbs alone causes your blood sugar to raise sky high and your body releases massive amounts of insulin and then your blood sugar crashes. Protein causes your blood sugar to rise more gradually, not rise as high as carbs alone, and then your blood sugar level stays high for much longer after eating.

Plus, when you add in fats, your body uses fats to construct testosterone and estrogen, and those hormones in large doses, also sway blue.

I think it's fine as an occasional treat as long as you keep under the magic totals for hte day and watch that fat intake!! White choc is prob. better than brown (but white choc leaves me cold.)

I agree- I ate lots of carbs- cereal, bread, crackers, sugar, fruit, but not a lot of protein. I lived for sugar. But, the month I conceived DD, I was avoiding sugar/dairy/meat because I read that it can negatively affect fertility- ugh. So, I wasn't eating much since I was on vacay with fam and couldn't control what was served.

My sister eats tons of candy and cakes and has two boys-but she also is very fertile, so that probably helps her a bit.

I agree with the fats- after eating lots of fats and fish oil- my cycles improved and I got mad amounts of ewcm. So, I think this helps!

That is so interesting Spicy! Thanks for sharing!!!

The more I read about the diets of moms who conceived girls vs. boys, the more I think we really are on the right track. When we had these sorts of threads on IG (when I was first looking into swaying, before I found out about the TW hypothesis and the MDH and the blood sugar stuff) people's answers were just all over the map...some of the boy moms ate dairy and some of the girl moms didn't...same with caffeine and sodium. There just never seemed to be any kind of pattern. I really do think that we are onto something here!!!

I love the information in this thread!! It is soo helpful to compare my own diet to everyone's. I see that my problem is I eat equal amounts of proteins as carb...partially, because I was told to eat protein to keep my blood sugar levels equalized for my hypoglycemia and it has worked. Soooo......If I cut out protein sources other than peanut butter, remove fats such as butter and stick to my carbs and sugars..I have a better chance...BUT that negates the weight loss part....maybe the malnutrition will win out over the sugar levels??? And I'll lose weight because of not eating nutritiously...I'm going to eat more rice as well..seems to work.
