Yay Bec your back in the game. I wonder how long you were going to hold that blood for if there was no intervention? Maybe your body thought you were still pregnant.
Pop so weird with your temps, i was expecting a rise for you today for sure. But remember Flava got preggers when FF didnt give her a confirmed O either, maybe you will get a surprise, all of the other signs look good, just the temp is out of wack. Maybe inspect your thermometer, see if it is working properly.
And if it makes you feel any better, my chart was perfect last month and here i am still trying, and this cycle looks great on paper too, but you know i just have the feeling it isn't going to happen this time either.

ITA, POP....sometimes you can surge and it doesn't quite trigger ovulation, and then your body will try again. Keep dtd and tell your DH to shut it! I know it's hard....we are dtd every other day and last night was a real stretch to get it done. My DH asked if I was asleep in the middle of it! I know those opks can be frustrating.....I am having a time with it now, too. I have never used the digis either, only Wondfo cheapies, but they usually work if I am testing on urine that is not diluted. I have to try not to drink much those days.
Bec, WOW that sucks that you had to have your AF induced that way, but hey, whatever helps, right? Glad you are track to try again this month. Are you doing 100mg Clomid?
Oh, and I wanted to add about the Clomid discussion- I took it for 3 months last year. My doc thought I was ovulating, but wanted to see if it made a difference with a "better egg" coming out (this was before we knew it was male factor), and I took the lowest amount, 50mg. I definitely ovulated a day early (CD13) each month, and could feel it big time. I don't really see anything wrong with trying the low dose for a month or two, but do have your doc prescribe it and make sure they are monitoring you a bit.
In fact, I may need to take it again soon for a different reason. I don't feel like I am ovulating anymore. I'm gonna make a post about it to get a variety of responses, but my cycle has been really weird the last two months with the constant brown spotting and the pain thing that I got a few times. And now I'm CD13 and not a trace of a line on the opks (it's been a pretty constant CD14 ov day for a while now). I have zero cm and don't feel like I'm going to ovulate at all. ARGGGGGGGG.....last thing I need are my eggs going bad while we save up for IVF!!!!!

Can I ask a dumb question......what happens if you don't O? When does AF come? How does it know to come?

Lola - Could it be stress?
Bec - Great news

Probably, Foxy. I have been abnormally stressed lately, plus eating very little and working out a lot to lose weight. I am hoping that is the reason, although I don't plan to stop trying to lose weight this summer. Hopefully it will normalize. Got a doc's appointment in another month, so I guess I'll have her check up on me then.

That is not a dumb question at all.....it looks like from FF charts that sometimes they are just long cycles and AF naturally comes, and sometimes it needs to be induced. I remember reading that your body can sometimes gear up to ovulate a few times in a cycle, but if there is not enough estrogen to trigger the LH surge that triggers ovulation, you can have times where you almost ovulate, and you can have ewcm and all, but your body just doesn't juice you with quite enough hormones. Sometimes your body will try to ovulate again, but sometimes it just gives up and your body decides it is time for progesterone and you go into your luteal phase and then have AF. I hope this isn't what is happening with you!

At some point your body gives up, estrogen drops and when that happens, your body thinks it's ok to slough off your uterine lining. It's not a "real" AF because you didn't ovulate, and so your body can't really produce progesterone (because it's the empty hole that the egg came from, the corpus luteum, that makes progesterone.) It's generally kinda different than your normal AF - it can be lighter, heavier, shorter, longer, come at any time in your cycle. Whereas if it's pretty normal flow and happens when you expect it, it's probably AF.
Normal AF happens when progesterone drops because you're not pg and your corpus luteum only lasts for 10-14 days without a signal from an implanted egg that you're pregnant, so the CL stops making prog and when prog drops, then you get AF. That's how doctors trigger AF - they give you a big shot of progesterone and so your prog levels rise and then drop sharply, and this tricks your body into thinking it's time for AF.
Nutshell version - if you didn't O, you get bleeding from estrogen dropping too low to sustain lining. If you DID O but didn't conceive, you get AF when progesterone drops too low to sustain lining.
There is also something called breakthru bleeding that can be caused by estrogen that's too high (when you're on BC pills, for example, but some herbs may cause it and so can menopause) Your lining gets SO thick that it sloughs off of its own accord and this can cause really annoying spotting that can hang around for ages afterwards.Last edited by atomic sagebrush; May 22nd, 2012 at 05:24 PM.
