Alexis, I hear you on wanting the natural ewcm! Mine comes and goes, not sure why, but I just plan on faking it with preseed or ew again. All you have to do is mix a few pinches of bs with the preseed and mix it well. When I did it (which I probably will again), I squirted the preseed into a little clean condiment bowl and then mixed it well, then sucked it up with the dropper thing. You don't need too much of it. Maybe an 1/8 teaspoon if I were measuring? Or, you could do the bsf and then preseed right after, I think that has the same effect, really. It's all up in there one way or another. Just be careful with too much bs.....I am not always sure that it isn't bad for sperm in certain amounts, kwim?

The whole washing/fridge thing is to raise the egg's ph, no? I think taking one out of the carton, washing it, and leaving it on the counter to get room temp for an hour or two before dtd is good. When I did ew for the first couple of months, I was doing the whole bowl in fridge thing and I think I raised the ph above 10. My ph strips were not super high tech and just gave me a "high" ph reading, but I think it was too high. Try testing one right out of the carton, I bet they are near 8-9 already. Alexis, don't be afraid to do the preseed with pinch of bs also. Don't think it sways girl necessarily......you may have been way girl-zone and the preseed just helped you get pg then.

I had heard it was for pH, but I want to know why this would raise the pH and whether it does anything that might reduce the effectiveness of the EW in any other way.

I always wondered how that would raise the egg's pg also! And you know what, I am afraid that my first 3 attempts were unsuccessful because I did that fridge thing for 2 weeks and now think my egg's ph was TOO high and killed all the sperm!

I SO wish we had a team of scientists and an army of women TTC (who didn't care about gender) at our disposal and we could just order them to study things and find out which of these things REALLY work and which are just voodoo!!!
