I see a post pop up and I have to answer it. That is my job to do that. I see tons of people in tears over this stuff, their entire pregnancy ruined over it, and I have to answer to save heartache for people (either from false hope or false despair). I walked into my ultrasound 110% convinced I was having a girl in part because of heartbeat and it was MUCH worse than if I had had a more realistic expectation about what heart rates meant.
PS, I don't really appreciate the snippiness when I am only trying to help spare you and lots of other people from unneccesary stress and heartache. I don't think I was rude or nasty, just sharing the info. I write in all caps sometimes so it pops out in a wall of text. I write hundreds of posts a day many days and thus I would appreciate you guys giving me the benefit of the doubt if I ever come across short it's because I am in a hurry usually and punch it out in a couple minutes. I reread my post and I don't think it did come across short or snippy anyway. So, whatever.Last edited by atomic sagebrush; March 9th, 2016 at 01:07 PM.

I completely understand but please try to turn it around and think of the people who are seeing their heartrates in girl range but who are having boys, and now getting very excited and will walk in to have their dreams crushed. It is better for me to present realistic facts and then at least you guys are forewarned that it doesn't work (even if you still believe it, which is 100% fine). I'm not trying to pee in anyone's pool, it is just that I have been in that position before and I did have my hopes way way way up because of the OWT and it made it a thousand times worse.

All this gender talk makes me wonder.... team yellow- who is planning to find out via bw and who is waiting for u/s? When is (roughly) or how far are you from your bw or u/s?
I am getting bw @ 12 week (in 3 weeks) and should get results around 14 weeks.
🙏 for a healthy 🌈 🚼

I'm waiting for ultrasound which will be another 2 months or more to get to near 20. They talked about blood work but they only gave an option of a full $1200 test so I didn't want to ask about anything cheaper... I'll just wait it out!

I will probably get a scan about 15wks.
I wanted to get the NT scan before 12 wks because I'm anxious to see bubs again and I don't want to try to guess nubs and get my hopes up that its a girl like with ds2. The only issue is I read you get more false positives if it is done too early so I might just have to stick to around 12wks.

I'm getting bloodwork but only dh is finding out. I want to be team green. I'm getting it done at 10.5 weeks. It will be a Monday so he may even know by then end of the week. I swayed for him and he was devastated when our last was a girl. I don't want to deal with his emotions this time so he'll have to keep it a secret from me.

I understand. I would hope no one would really put all of their faith and hopes in OWT's or what another may think based on past experiences. The only real way of knowing to me is when you give birth (that's 100%!), have genetic testing with gender (I think my dr. said it's almost 99%) or ultrasound (not sure of the percentage on this but it's got to be above 90%?). Other than that it's just a guessing game. I think from time to time it's ok for us to have a little fun and make guesses or talk about our past experiences. I hope we're all on the same page that it's just for fun.
