Iwant4, yaaaay how exciting!!!! Please keep us posted!
LMSM, amazing so will you also find out gender at that time?
Kat, I swear we are long lost twins lol! I'm also a big runner, ran with both previous pregnancies and have run the NYC twice. This bedrest is torture! I feel like that was part of the reason my deliver was so easy (I was walking every day in my 3rd tri because it was impossible to run). Does DH know gender? Why did you decide not to find out? Sorry I was super late to the ddg party!

iwant4 so exciting!! will be watching for your update
yes im surprised at how gorgeous the gender neutral stuff is, there seems to be lots of white with yellow and grey and also moons and clouds on which i love
LMSM thats sad to hear that you would be charged so much for a homebirthare they not cheaper than hospital birth? over here (UK) we have the NHS but you can still see how much everything costs and a normal non-intervention hospital birth is over 1,000 pounds more expensive than a homebirth with 2 midwives!
far as my freebirths went my midwife knew what i wanted to do and supported 100%, we agreed that i would call her whenever i wanted too, wether that be in labor or after the birth, so i wasnt bound to freebirth if at any point i changed my mind and wanted her there
as it was both times we rang her within maybe 10-15 mins of baby arriving and she came out getting to us about 40mins after the birth, she was here for placenta delivery both times. funnily enough with my youngest dh was working nights and was sleeping in our room while i was in labor, i had my then 1 year old daughter for companywe napped on the sofa together for most of it and then she followed me up to the bathroom and dh didnt wake up till he heard baby crying so my DD was the only one with me which was nice, i dont think she understood she just stood by the bath splashing water everywhere! im really hoping to have a birth like that one again this time, it was so relaxed and easy i was amazed!
plan wise i wanted water births and used the bath, so i was sat in the bath feeding a baby both times when our midwife arrived haha! the only other thing i had planned was to use a cord tie instead of a clamp and i tied that on after the placenta was delivered and then i cut the cord, baby got checked over and weighed and then midwife left us to itall very low key really!

sounds awesome 4blue2pink! Ideal even...love that you had your little girl there
Unfortunately, the State here doesn't fund homebirth, though you're right they are cheaper! Other States in Australia do fund public programs ( I guess similarly to what the nhs does in the U.K.).
I soooo wanted a water birth and was elated when I heard my hospital was trialling them when expecting DD2 but missed out as we only just made it to the hospital and the middies were filling the tub for me but had to drop it all to catch her so never even got close to the tub lolLucky Mummy to 4 sweet divas (2013) (2015) (2018) (2021) and 1 sweet boy (2024) that completed our family
