So the other day we finally got ds1 an official diagnosis for his issues. He has autistic disorder in a mild form and anxiety disorder, somewhat severe. It feels weird to have it be official. I was holding out hope he didn't really have autism even though I just knew....so anyway , I still worry about ds3 and whether he will be "normal" like ds2 or more like ds1 . I feel at times ds 2 just got lucky or maybe we just don't see his issues yet? It drives a lady crazy wondering if her baby is doomed. I know I shouldn't think that way but it's hard not to knowing how much more likely boys are to have issues. That was one of the main reasons for my sway to begin with. I just really hope teddy is okay.

Rosie, Im not sure what to say hun, Im sorry your DS1 has received his diagnosis however Im glad you know the issue so that perhaps you can find the right treatment for him. I totally understand your fear with your current baby, I imagine that I would be exactly the same in your situation. All I can offer you sweets is support to try and help you through this time and think positive thoughts that DS3 will be ok.
Hope everyone has a lovely weekend2006

I'm sure he will be fine, my ds1 has SEN and its getting worse / more noticeable as he got older. Ds2 is fine no signs of anything and neither has ds3 who although he is only 2 seems fine and ds1 was showing signs at this stage (plus i know what i'm looking for now). There is no reason Teddy won't be fine x

Sorry to hear you've had the diagnosis confirmed for your ds1 Rosie, on the potty training issues have you had any help/ advice? I have a friend whose son has mild autism and she had problems potty training him, he very much likes routine and anything that changes really upsets him. She got some great support and advice on techniques to use to support him during potty training and she has just managed to get him out of nappies. He has recently turned 5 years old.
I'm sure your ds3 will be fine, totally natural to worry though I do too as my logic kind of things that I'm tempting fate a bit expecting three healthy los. I guess it is all part of being a mum - we're natural worriers! xxDS1 - 4.5yrsDS2 - 3yrs
