So happy for you, Zoey! I'm going through this myself. 2 past losses just like you, so I'm also getting a lot of early testing done. At my 6wk4dy ultrasound they said I was measuring too small and the heart beat was there but very slow. So slow and so small they didn't bother measuring. :/ I'm certain of my conception date (TMI, but dh and I only dtd 1 time this cycle—hey, swaying girl!). So far my blood work has been meh-to-okay—hcg rising but not exactly double every 48—so I'm just playing the excruciating waiting game. I did more blood draws twice last week, so waiting the long holiday weekend (grrr) to hear the results. I have another scan set for 8wk3dy, but that seems like FOREVER from now.
They also said my uterus was measuring too large—possible fibroids—and that it was severely tilted. Funny that in my past three healthy pregnancies no one ever noticed or mentioned that.

Congrats on the great news!!! Uk's waiting at least 9 weeks sounds better than going through what many do on here. Unless you need meds from ob to help sustain your pregos we should not see docs that early. It like waiting to poas it drives us crazy and some can get a + at 9 days and others at 18 days. It's a waiting game and we are all different. Nothing u can do. Congrats again!

That's actually incorrect. A heartbeat at 7 weeks is maybe average, and a 5+3 is pretty unusual -- we saw one at 5w6d for me, and my OB was flat out astonished. These are technically the early beginnings of the formation of the heart, not actually the heart -- not seeing a heartbeat until ~8-10ish weeks is OK. You also can't generally hear a heartbeat so much as see one that early, also.
Are you scheduled to go back in to check on progression?
While not as big, I was measured a full week behind when I went in at 5w6d, which even with an early "heartbeat" worried me. I just didn't ovulate when I thought I had (and I had based that on CM and cervix positioning and loose timing). Even the best of the best ovulation tracking isn't always accurate. Case in point, I had started out with a VERY faint BFP that slowly darkened over days. At the time, I thought I had been 14DPO as well -- nope, I had a very EARLY BFP at 8DPO based on the dating ultrasound.
I know how stressful and aimless this time can be right now. I'm here if you want to talk over PM.
ETA: Oops, didn't see this was a few days old. So happy to hear the good news!! Hopefully anyone with a similar story will see my response and the general discussion -- this is NOT an uncommon story! So glad it's happy!

I just wanted to check in and give a little update and a huge thanks to everyone in this thread. Esp to Atomic, you made this happe for me!
I had a baby girl in August.
She was born 5 weeks premature due to preeclampsia. But healthy as can be.
I can remember the feeling of loss and panic I experinced. I thought there was no hope, and can you believe after my first US she talked about scheduliga a d&c.' Don't even wanna think about it.
I think I conceived when I had those O pains. As I wrote before, she was born more than 5 weeks premature but at 46cm long she weighed 2465grams and didnt even need oxygen at birth. She could breastfeed from the very start and needed no extra attention what so ever. All this, and her size, makes me believe I really was right on the dates making her only a 4 weeks preemie.
For anyone who might read this thread, who might google or search and end up here.
Please stay positive even when you think all is lost.

Such a lovely update Zoey. So glad you didn't jump into the d and c, I think they suggest those things far too quickly when really they should wait and see if the pregnancy progresses. Your baby girl sounds like she is doing so well.
