I'm still nursing my 15-month old and my cycles havent returned yet. I'm just now starting my sway with plans to make a first attempt in October/November. I bought a plan and will have it soon (no time to research the way I did with ds now that he's here lol).

In the meantime I have my (couple months late) annual exam and I plan to ask my midwife about taking vitex while breastfeeding to hopefully get my cycles back. I took it when I was ttc ds because my cycles are irregular . I'm a vitex pro lol.

I'm also planning on starting the transition of my son to his own room. We bedshare and he nurses frequently overnight, so I'm thinking once he is in his own space, my cycles might return.

    Who knows?

So for now I'm working on skipping breakfast, making the transition from my compulsive tea habit to having coffee instead, and cutting down on fat and protein.

He is seriously the funniest, goofiest little guy. Today he actually leaned over and kissed his brother on the cheek! But having and loving my boys just can't erase my desire to have a daughter - they're just two separate things. I'll love a 3rd boy if that's what happens, but I don't know how I will ever really move on from that desire to have a girl. It's tough
This made me tear up... exactly how I feel. I'm totally 100% cool with having another boy and it would be amazing watching two sons grow up. But my husband and I have talked about our kids for years and a daughter was always part of the vision we had of our family. If we have another son, that's amazing... but I'll never be able to let go of the desire for a daughter. They're just two different things.

Waiting this week for a positive OPK so we can have our first attempt.

So this is my pink sway so far:

    1) LE vegetarian diet eating twice a day (lunch & dinner only) for the past 26 weeks.
    2) Still breastfeeding DS2 3 times a day, & weaned DS1 8 weeks ago
    3) Drinking coke zero once a day
    4) No alcohol, had probably 4 coffees in the past 6 months & stopped drinking tea (only ever had it once a week at playgroup) 6 weeks ago.
    5) So far I have lost 11kg in the past 26weeks, but I am 16kg lighter than my conception weight with both boys.
    6) I returned to work at the beginning of my sway & I have the boss from hell. I feel that I have lost a lot of the "fight & energy" that I once had. She makes me anxious & nervous as she is very unpredictable & everyone has to tiptoe around her. Apparently this type of stress sways pink.
    7) I have tried to reduce my stress levels at home with the kids - not sure that I have but who knows!
    8) Avoiding "O" - this has been hard! Embarrassed to say it but I used to "O" frequently on my own a few times a week
    9) Folic acid supplement
    10) No exercise

My hubby hasnt changed his diet at all, but I have slightly tweaked it by stealth - he is only eating red meat once or twice a week, & I have reduced his portions slightly at dinner. He is also drinking coke zero, peppermint tea 3 times a day & OLE 3 times a week (the strength available in australia is huge!). He is releasing daily on his own up until our attempt at positive OPK

Our plan this week will be to have one attempt at positive OPK & hope for the best! My periods are regular but now very light & I normally ovulate around day 18. Hoping that our attempt near the new moon may also help.

All in all this is quite opposite to our boy attempts when I:
    1) Was a all day & night snacker
    2) Ate meat everyday - & red meat at least 4 times a week, ate a very nutritious & varied diet full of wholegrains & low GI food. Never drank alcohol or soda. rarely drank coffee or tea. Often drank vitamin fortified hot chocolate.
    3) Ate cereal everyday & sometimes twice a day
    4) Was at my heaviest weight before DS1 (gained weight in the 3 months before) & gained muscle before DS2
    5) Was on prenatal vitamins for 9 months before DS1 & 1 month before DS2 , & hubby was on prenatals for 9months prior to DS1
    6) DS1 was frequent attempts everyday up to & including positive OPK, DS2 was frequent attempts up until 5 days before positive OPK (failed shettles)
    7) I was working in a management position when I fell pregnant with DS1 so very dominant in the workplace, similar working position with DS2
    9) Was still breastfeeding DS1 when fell pregnant with DS2 but this clearly didnt sway pink at all for us last time!
    10) conceived around the time of the full moon
    11) frequent "O" on my own a few times a week, but deliberately didnt "O" at either attempt with DS1 & DS2.
    12) Used to go for a walk a few times a week

So who knows how much I have swayed! I hope its enough & if its not I know I tried.

Kc your sway sounds great! Such a change from when you conceived your boys.

Jsophia I was a MASSIVE tea drinker, dropping the tea and switching to coffee has been so hard. I seriously get tea cravings, I miss it a heap.

Next cycle I am not really going to actively sway at all...

Which means giving up on the L.E. diet. I'm vegetarian always because the thought of eating animal flesh makes me want to puke! Haha! But, I have given in to snacking and occasionally binge eating, like I usually do. It really seems like swaying for a girl is nearly hopeless without the L.E. diet and keeping your blood sugar low - so I'm expecting another boy next. I'm so good with that now. I've just accepted my nature and my lifestyle being a boy friendly lifestyle.

I won't change much else, though, because the other things don't bother me. I'll be adding in at least one attempt in the fertile window, though. And I understand that will push me further into the boy zone. I just want to be pregnant already! I feel that time is running out for me with my plans and the fact that I have fibroids and they could become an issue if I wait too long for pregnancy.
I will still just stick with folate and no prenatals and continue to have a bit of wine and coffee.

I think vegetarianism pushes you over into the girl territory ever so slightly...so...my slim chances with that will be something to wonder over for a while. LOL.

I'm so in awe of those boy moms that can stick with the L.E. diet and get their girls! xoxo

You always have a chance of a boy or a girl no matter what. Even if you're 80% set for boys statistically you'd have a girl 20% of the time. Most of us just don't wanna "Duggar it out" so we try to up our odds, but that does not mean that if you don't sway it is "hopeless". Just not the case.
