I forgot to mention, we just found out Colton has the same breathing problem that my middle son has. He has something called Laryngomalacia, Stridor, and retractions in his ribs and neck when he breathes. The doctors never could find anything wrong with my older son, but now we get to start all over again to see what might be causing it in Colton. It's really stressful knowing your children have a harder time breathing

Mrshoneyz my baby is the same... I noticed him breathing really hard but never mentioned it until when he was 7 weeks old and had bronchiolitis and went to hospital they noticed it and he totally checks out they cant seem to find anything wrong and he is a big boy they have put it down to being a " bigger baby " but I see his chest going in all the time even with clothes on its just horrible to look at

Thank you ladies. Pinkin, that's awful. I'm so sorry you are dealing with it too! It's strange because my older son was failure to trive, and had so many problems gaining weight, but they weren't sure if it was related. He's almost 2 and still has it, minus the Stridor that Colton has. Colton is 10 lbs 8 oz at 4 weeks old, so he's way bigger. I have no idea what might be causing it. We do live at a high altitude though, so I always wondered if that was part of it.

Its just the worst thing I find it so hard looking at his chest it really sinks in when he breathes and he seems to breathe fast.... Its always on your mind isn't it?? I keep worrying that something bad will happen to him even tho they say he is ok it just doesn't look right.

Oh Pinkin and Mrsh how awful It must be very stressful to watch, thinking of you both xx

Rosie that made me feel better about this LO's hiccups because I swear she has them allll the time.

Did anyone else notice their baby practise breathing in the womb?? All my kids have done it and it is really obvious to me and anyone who catches it that this is what it is but I dare not mention it to my Ob as Im sure she'd think I was crazy lol I googled and found one lady said a sign it is breathing is that the baby will get hiccups soon after and Yup this LO gets hiccups straight after, so strange but also comforting to me that she is preparing for the outside world x

The last couple of days my braxton hicks have had the odd "twingeyness" accompany them... and just now I felt a pinch/twinge right by my cervix! What's going on? Never had such things with my son's pregnancy. Do you think it's just a subsequent full term pregnancy thing (taking into account my two miscarriages before my son) where the cervix area is just a lot 'looser' or softer so it tends to slowly dilate, or something like that, sooner? I don't think that's what it is... I may just be having more sensations with braxton hicks this time then last... but can't help but wonder, anyway!
