Please, please don't let that age gap bother you! There might be rough moments, but I am very close to my sister who is almost 8 years younger than me (I have another sister in the middle, too, who is 5 years older than her and not close with her at all). It all comes down to personality vs age. My husband is an Irish twin with one brother and they aren't close at all and never have been -- he's much closer with his next youngest brother who's 2-3 years younger than him.

I'm sorry you didn't hear girl Eighme.
I totally agree with ABC about brothers though. My boys are so close. And ds1 is such a huge help with entertaining ds2. But I get it. I had a bit of GD t ds2s birth and felt a bit panicked over the possibility of never having a daughter. Just let yourself feel it. X

I actually love that a lot of you ladies have two sons! I'm hopeful in a few years we can try again for our girl. I am MUCH better today. My son has been asking for a brother, so it's sweet!
Sunstars, my nephew's are 7, and 9 years younger than their older brother! He's the best big brother and a HUGE help to my SIL. Age gap doesn't mean they won't be close. Personalities do. My sister and I are 7 and are super close
Thanks again for all your words of encouragement. I am not excited to hear from my in laws (this will be boy #5) on their side. But, they already thought this was a boy due to history, so not much pressure. My mom is excited.

I also have 2 boys and completely agree with everyone else... boys do belong in pairs. My boys adore each other, and I know that I by having them I gave them a best friend for life. Obviously they have their moments but for the most part they are gorgeous to watch together.
I’m so glad you’re feeling better after a big cry. Crying is so cleansing. I hope that one day you get your baby girl [emoji4]

Huge hugs Eighme. You sound in a good place today. Just let yourself feel it. It's ok to feel how you feel. When we found out our DS3 was on the way I was so upset. I honestly just thought I was "owed" a girl. I know practically no one IRL with 3 sons, everyone I know who had two boys went into have a girl. But he is here and the most fabulous two year old you've ever laid eyes upon. He holds my heart!
One thing I will say about your second son - they come with a BIG personality! Anyone I know who has two boys agrees with me. They are fun fun fun!

Eighme, Im sending you big hugs, I know what you feel and as women we get most of the pressure to give birth to a certain gender.
When I got severe GD with my 3rd son, I googled uplifting phrases and one that specially got me is, that the problem knowing mid pregnancy what youre having, is that you extract one sole fact of the human inside you and nothing else.
When you meet this little miracle, you will see his smile, his eyes, his chubby hands, his personality, your others sons joy, his laugh, etc. The fact that he’s a boy will be one fact out of a million. Right now, it’s the one thing you know about him.
Thats part of the reason I’m going team green

YES, Hopper - I agree too!!! My DS2 is CRAZY, lol!!!! And SO different from his big brother!! Everything I thought I learned about parenting with DS1 went out the window with DS2 because he marches to a very different beat! (And a much more stubborn one!!).
. It’s great though!!

Completely agree - my DS2 has only just turned 1 but already has the most amazing personality, so loving, adventurous and cheeky. He and his brother are best mates (DS1 calls him "little buddy" often. I was so disappointed to see DS2 was a boy but now I can't imagine my boys not having each other.
