I don't think it's taboo at all -- I don't think adoption is ever taboo, it's such a wonderful thing, and I think it really was the way people got around GD back before IVF and having babies until they hit their DG!

There are people that have done it on here btw, both embryo adoption and traditional adoption. And people talk about it often!

I think it's lovely to do. I personally wouldn't just because I truly have some big hang ups on having a boy from me (which is why I was full on considering sperm donors there for a second!). I'm not sure what you are, but be aware adoption can be more difficult and expensive than IVF. In our state, my husband and I technically could be barred from adoption because of our religious views since the agencies are run by a specific religious org, and many other places have this too. BUT I think it is obviously so worth it.

TP, we are in TX. What state are you in, if don't mind me asking. I would love to do IVF but all the clinics are literally over six hours away. I was wondering if adoption was the easier, cheaper route. Obviously, I haven't looked into it fully.

@Eighme I think that adoption is a wonderful way to get your DG. We looked into it here (I'm in Ireland) and there's so many hoops to jump through, massively expensive and fostering seems to be the way they encourage you to go but I think the U.S. seems to be much more amenable to adoption. Best of luck with whatever you decide xxx

Had a little bit of GD rear it's super ugly head today! A very popular social media influencer, who is due a couple of weeks before me, had her gender reveal. She has a boy at home and is of course having a girl this time. Those PPs are such a trigger, grrrrr!!

Onto another different topic - girls there's some fab bumps on our group isn't there!! I think the OWT is completely debunked cause we are all carrying so differently even those of us with the same gender on board lol.

DH took a little bump snap earlier. Here's my up to date bumpie at 13+4. I'm proper huge! I had a mom at the school gate ask me how far along I was today. I added another week to my gestation lol! Even at that I was embarrassed!

Eighme i am also thinking about adoption...here u dont pay anything but it takes long time for a couple with children, they prefer couples that cant have children.

I'll join in on the bump pics since the house is quiet and I have a chance... I think it gets bigger at night. 21 weeks...
Bigger than with ds1, but smaller than I was with ds2.
