Sad I will probably never get to buy that for my own girl but still I went looking for something as girly as possible and enjoyed it where as Ive never braved doing that before, normally got something like a book etc.
I feel like I can sort of let a little bit of my dissapointment of never getting to buy pink, show to my friends as long as I still say how I also see tons of cute boy stuff which is gorgeous but am gutted Ill never get to shop for pink

Sorry feel like im in need of a vent...

Having wobbles about selling up. On one hand i've always dreamt of living in the countryside in an old house that i have done up but on the otherhand we have just got our house perfect and live right in the centre of a beautiful town with loads of stuff going on. Im wandering whether i will regret this move. Have any of you made the move from town to country and if so afterwards did you have any regrets? Will i miss being able to pop into town for shopping, tea and cake etc or will the benfits of living in the country outweigh that downside? We have second viewings on our house and apparently both couples love it so we may need to make a definate decision soon. eeeek!

Maybe, im so with you on the drugs side of things. I had inducement and epidural with ds1 and pethidine with ds2. Neither was a great experience due to my twisted pelvis, but out of choice i think i would go epidural next time. I think going no drugs is all very well if you have had easy previous births but if you have had rubbish experiences, going the hippy route will be scary and probably make you tense up making it even worse.

Lavender, im glad pethedine was great for you. I hated it because i kept falling asleep between contractions which meant it felt like i didnt get any time to gather my thoughts and prepare myself for the next wave. It just felt like one enormous contraction that never stopped! I take it, it wasnt like this for you?

Charlie, are you ok hun? im worried that we havent heard from you. Im thinking of you so much and also you babymad, maybe pink, indigo and chocolate as i know you three are suffering too. Im so clinging onto hope of a girl at the moment. Wish i was still in the zone of thinking it is boy and being fine with it...that was a healthier place to be!
Just checking in - supposed to be working but hasn't happened today so lots to catch up on tonight. I'm feeling a lot better, feeling the baby move a lot more now and got my head round having another boy. Still feeling low on occasional days - DH's granny's 90th had everyone asking 'do you know what it is' even before they'd properly said hello then 'are you going to keep going til you get a girl'. How cruel some people can be without even probably realising it.
Charlie - been thinking of you lots too and see you haven't posted in a few days. Really hope you're ok hun. Am guessing it's hit you very hard. Big hugs xxx

trust me i've had 2 hippy births but was adviced to have the epidural this time because of my high bp and I didn't feel any pain at all, whatsoever! I could still move my legs and move around on the bed and i still felt tremendous pressure but there was no pain at all. It was a lovely birth experience and so special not to be screaming in pain and shouting in "GET IT OUT" for once lol if only the next 5 days that followed would have been just as lovely :/

Maybepink, lovely to hear from you. How insensitive can people be?!!! People talk about babies as though they are sweets or something. Its a massive deal to decide to get pg again, especially if deep down you know you would prefer one gender and might not get it! Such throw away comments that hurt the recipient so much!
Great that you are having lots more good days than down days

i'm sorry i cant help, but from our emails i thought moving to the country was your dream hun? of course you're gonna question if it's the right thing to do, that's only natural because it's such a life changing decision.. but i'm sure you will make the decision that's right for you in the end

maybepink, glad your having some better days, so hard though!

Deaks, thanks but I have just let go of thinking this once 'could' be a girl, I dont like that hope as it makes the fall harder. Im certain this is a boy and means I can plan for the future based on that and have longer to get over it.

House wise - how far out is the house in the country> how far to drive back to town? Id love to move to the country but would want to be able to drive to town within 5 to 10 mins. Just means you plan your days and outings better thats all, good luck!

Charlie - hope your ok and just taking some time out from the forum as I can understand why.

Pain relief I had pethidine with DS1 and it chilled me out, felt crap after being drugged up but app. it shouldnt have done, maybe hormones did it! I also had gas and air which lept me focussed. Didnt feel stitches and had loads, didnt need gas and air for them either which shocked the nurses.

DS2 I had gas and air and water pool for pain relief, perfect labour, felt in control till the end, not particularly painful. However had an eposiotomy as DS's cord was short and heartrate didnt recover well everytime I contracted so after 7 minutes he was out. However the stitches were so painful I was wincing and using gas and air, I said I didnt feel them with DS2 and was that the pethidine and they said no I should have felt them lol. Maybe 1st time round the stretching numbed me!

Id def. have an epidural if it dragged on, the worst part for me is the pushing stage and stitches so Id have pethidine to calm me ready for pushing.

But, I liked feeling normal after DS2 with just gas and air so swings and roundabouts really

Deaks I pretty much fell asleep and sort of woke up a tiny bit when I was contracting but was pretty out of it so didn't register the pain. Then it was time to push and I just sort of woke up and pushed but my contractions were 5 minutes apart probably due to the pethadine but it only took two pushes to get ds2 out! I was Pushing for 45 minutes with ds1. I would use it again but know of people who also didn't get on with it like you. I intially didn't want it incase it made ds2 drowsy so a lazy feeder but he was very alert from the the start.

I can get the house wobble. When we were in London I realised how much we miss out on living in a village by a small town shops wise. But I love my village! We have a carnival with floats, street fairs with stalls in the summer, I feel really safe it's nice and quiet nice school that we can walk to etc. etc.
But I would love, love a farmhouse with lots of land where the kids could run free! I think we will have to move in about 4 years time as we will out grow our house and I will be really sad as we have spent so much time doing it up.

How far are you from shops, dr's schools etc if you go ahead with the move?

The good thing about our villiage even though it's really small, there is a Dr's, two vets, village shop with post office and butchers in it. Local pub and first and middle school and a little library and village hall!! Also we have a milkman and there's a man that delivers coal. So if you get snowed in your allright! The only annoying thing is driving to petrol stations and Tesco's only about 10 minutes drive but feel like a chore.

Charlie hope your ok? Hope dh was ok with the news too.

Deaks I really don't see too much of a problem moving to the country especially around here, it's usually so easy to get into a town if you want, the drives are never usually more than 10 mins or so, and let's face it that's not really long, especially when in a big town like st Albans it can take that long to go a couple of miles lol!
It's only natural to have doubts about something this big! In health psychology we are looking at how stress effects health and moving house and having a baby are both considered major life events with alot of stress and anxiety around them!

Feeling so run down at the moment, no motivation or energy and not particularly happy either. Joys of pregnancy hormones huh! I hope it doesn't effect me and dp too much because last pregnancy we had some pretty tough times, I'm starting to just be irritated by everything he does again and I don't really know why!!
