TTC5, I am sad you are taking a break, I was hoping you would get your bfp but I know it is probably good for you to take a break for a bit and then get back on track.

I think I'm going to test tomorrow (10DPO), will probably be negative but it's DH's birthday and I figure, if it's positive that's great and if it's not, oh well, I won't mention to him I took the test.

I think I had a GREAT sway for this attempt, I feel really good about it and I'm torn about August. I have cheated a few times here and there in the 2ww and haven't been as good. Part of the problem is that I've been working though (teacher, but I've been at some workshops and it's been really hard to eat as often as I need to and sometimes I just have to take what's available and it may not be boy friendly). So that makes me worried that once school starts in August, I will be screwing up a lot on the diet and that's the most important part. I guess it's always something. Even if I get a positive tomorrow/this week, I will just start stressing about m/c and then about the big u/s. I wish I could just turn off my brain and relax.
Your so sweet! I will still be around I am getting alot of work lately so this is keeping me occupied!
    Fathers Day baby!

Hello TTC5 have been missing you. I know that ttc boy and loosing weight is a big risk, but I do know 2 ladies who did just that and conceived a boy. They both in fact had trouble getting pregnant and they both went on an Atkins type diet with a lot of protein and a lot less processed carbs. Lots of salt and no sweet. Lots of fruit and veg and eggs. I remeber one of them telling us how eggs are really low in calories but full of nutrients and how she had poached eggs for breakfast pretty much every day. She has 2 boys btw and did they same thing with both of them lost weight using the same diet and then fell pregnant. GL

Welcome to all the newcomers and thanks for all your FXs girls.

Lola about your grandmas I have heard from people who have mixed gender children that their boys were conceived at a risky place or time when they could have been caught dtd by someone at any time. That is why I was happy we had house guests that were due to come back any time when we dtd (lol). So weekend at grandma's could be the trick for you too.

I am getting mucus discharge again yesterday and today. So I don't know what is going on with me. Maybe I missed O and this was the end of O signs and couple of days ago when I had the same kind discharge it was the start. But then I saw the same type couple of days before that and EWCM on the day we dtd. So who knows. I have been testing with the opks and have not had a surge. I have been also testing with my saliva O tester and have been getting ferns on and off, starting from the evening of the day we dtd. So I am thinking we could not have missed it surely. Ooohhhh it is all just doing my head in. TTC5 and ZB who was it again to tell you guys to keep distracted in the 2ww and not test till day 14, yes that is right it was ME!

I have to take my own advice and just keep myself distracted. Tomorrow night I might go and watch Harry Potter in the evening which will keep me away from this site. Then I will be half way there and hopefully find a good book to read. I got one that is called the 700 habits of ineffective parents. Looks like a funny way of teaching good and simple parenting skills might read that. Any other books anyone can recommend. The evenings and during DD2s sleep time in the day are the most tempting. I will have to cook in DD2s sleep time maybe make some cakes...

Iluv I was obsessed with those numbers during my pregnancy with dd2. My ob was saying that it is not such an exact science and that I should not obssess over them too much, but I could not help myself and to be honest they did follow that pattern pretty much while they were too low for 2nd m/c. So more good news for you luv. You definitely deserve it.

Iluv--that is very interesting information, thanks for sharing!

Jane--I think it was up to 5 days abstaining but DH and I threw timing out the window, we just dtd three times, pretty much every 36 hours leading up to O. Lots of boys conceived that way and I want to get pregnant.

I tested this morning (DH's birthday) 10 DPO and got a bfn. It was a digital not an early response but I don't feel pregnant at all. Kinda sad. I know it's stupid but I was really hoping since it worked the first time with dd it would happen again. So irritating to think of all the work I've done in the past NOT to get pregnant and here I dtd three freaking times during O week with preseed and propping and it didn't work. I'm holding out a little hope that it's just too early but I doubt it. Blah. And we're staying with the in-laws this weekend and they made me drink chocolate milk this morning. Hello, diet screw-ups.

Jane, is your opk fading in, like you think it will be + in another couple of days? I would go ahead and have him release again. I wouldn't have my DH hold them in for more than 4 days, personally. The longer they are in there, they get exposed to the toxins in his body and deteriorate. To be honest, from everything I've read on this site and others, I firmly believe that 48 hours in between is perfect for optimal sperm count (and my genius awesome doctor told me that, too). If he does now, then you get a + today or tomorrow, just wait and try to have 48 hours in between, but if you don't get 48 hours, don't stress it. Don't forget, ladies, that timing has not been proven to sway and TONS of boys are conceived dtd every day, twice a day, with a 5 day cut-off....pretty much any bd combo there is!
