Bluebonnet I think your feelings are SO natural. Please don't beat yourself up for your fears and we all know that you will love these babies whether they are b/g or b/b twins. That you would prefer B/G seems natural to me. But I bet the relationship between B/B would be pretty awesome too. No matter what you win! Let's hope time flies until you find out.

I promised myself I wouldn't get my hopes up, and wouldn't look at the stats, etc but today I saw that BD once 4+ days before O has a great positive girl rate (and a terribly small sample size of 10 so it could mean nothing) and since we BD either 4 or 5 days before O of course now I have just a teensy bit of hope but I'm trying to just focus on my boy name and the fact that it is really probably most definitely a boy. A few more weeks to go, we should know by V-Day when I want to go public on FB....

That being said I'm currently petrified I'm carrying 2 boys. The idea of 3 boys under 3 is terrifying to me! I'm so worried karma is going to damn me to having 2 more boys. After having DS, I got asked many times what I wanted next - I stupidly said many times "anything but twin boys". I could kick myself now because it seems that is my destiny. I feel guilty for swaying pink, guilty for wanting a daugher, and guilty for being terrified of twin boys my entire life. I know I will eventually love them and make peace with it, but right now it's hard. Thanks for listening.
Lurker sorry! I never look into these threads but could not help it when I saw the word twins in the New Forem replies bar. This was me exactly 3 years ago. I could have written this post word for word minus having the tests done to find out genders before scan. I really hope the other twin is your girl and if it is not then try not to worry. Having three boys when two are twins means you get alot less flak due to the twin thing. Everyone loves twins. My twins are the best, I wouldn't change a hair on their head now that they are here. I'm totally smitten by them.

I'm trying not to lose hope that it's b/g twins, but it's difficult. I've always longed for b/g twins and it would seem too perfect to be real.
If they are trying to confirm number of placentas like I suspect from a thread of yours a couple of weeks ago then they will look at gender because obviously B/G twins couldn't share one.

It is nice that the ladies in your due group can imagine how you must be feeling. It was torture not knowing leading up to that scan.

Going by Statistics, so fact, twin boys are the least common type of twin.
I can't wait to hear how you go. Goodluck.

Thank you for all the support ladies. I feel so terrible even writing these things so it makes me feel so much better to get them out with a group that understands. I tried talking to DH about it last night and he is trying to be sympathetic, but he just doesn't get it. I think he's frustrated because I'm the one that wanted another baby (he was fine with just one kid) so obviously I should be fine that twin boys was a possible outcome of having another baby. We have settled on our twin boy names (I refuse to even look at girl names or even consider them!), and I do think it helps to cope and try to imagine them as sweet little boys like DS.

1+2+3 boys - I read your blog post last night and really enjoyed it. It's nice to read from others that have BTDT.

Bluebonnet, I am having the same fears as you! I have 3 boys and am very scared of having 5 boys now :/. I know I will love them no matter what but the comments from people are horrible! Already getting the comment thwt they are both boys and that my DH side doesnt make girls ughh I hate the ignorance.

Happy that your babies are both healthy, now hoping you have a girl in there too!

Bluebonnet I really hope you have a girl in there! Hope your pregnancy remains healthy too!

I keep having baby gender dreams and I'm only 6 weeks :/
Also my morning sickness has kicked in. Today I can't stomach any food with a lot of flavour. Plain toast is now my friend!

I wish I could think of a great boys name to help lessen the blow if it is one but I just can't find one! My other 2 boys were easy and had decided as soon as I found out I was pregnant. I just have girl names which I never had before.

Bluebonnet, congrats on the healthy babies. I would be going crazy in your position. You know you have one boy, but not whether they are both boys. I hope you have your little girl in there! I think everyone here understands your feelings about gender disappointment. I know I do!! Fingers crossed you have done pink in there too!!
Thanks for thinking of me Christi. I had a rough day yesterday but finally booked a gender scan for Saturday. Sometimes, sanity has a price tag on it. DH is not pleased but I am going alone. I will have a strong emotional reaction either way and I need to be alone to maintain some composure.

In the mean time i am trying to visualize myself being where I was 7 years ago lying on a table with a u/s tech at my side and her telling me "its a girl" BUT making my immediate reaction completely different than it was last time. I keep calling the baby by the girl name we have picked and I may even browse online for some cute girl clothes to really get my mind into a girl mindset. If my expectations are set on a girl then it won't be a horrid cliff of disappointment to fall off. If its a boy, it will just be a massive surprise and I'll worry about that reaction at the time if I need to.

Honestly, one of the most challenging thing I am worried about is other people's criticism of our lives, (GD is right there too), but the facts of our life aren't really set up for another child. Most people I know only have 2 kids. I am almost 40 and DD1 will be 16 soon. I am a full time student and we live partially on student loans because of turmoil with DH job in the last few years. He will switch careers when I am done with school. So I am old, I will be raising kids until I am almost 60, I will have twice as many kids as most people and I can't afford it...not the smartest move from a critical standpoint. And, if its another girl, I know people will think "if you were just going to keep having girls, why go for #4?" Ugh....clearly I need to vent this morning...

I just had my 12 week scan. Tech was barely away from the head for more than a sec. Only gave me this one full shot. I'm hoping girl but not feeling optimistic any guesses? Hand was up near face.
