Thanks ladies but AARGH damn my forgetfulness since getting prego lol I've just arrived for my US and realised I have left my referral at home, and they won't do it without it. Just rang hubby to hurry up and get home to send it through as I wouldn't get back in time if I were to go. Geez lol

Hi ladies, sorry for the delay - I have been busy with the boys and also trying to process what happened at my scan today. In all honesty I don't really know where I'm at.

After drinking the required amount of water I was struggling and had to release some twice! When the sonographer first started the US she said she could see 2 structures and was confused and wanted to progress to a transvaginal (so much for struggling with my bladder! She showed me our baby with a nice heartbeat but said I wasn't as far along as I thought... from LMP I should be 7+6 and from suspected O 7+3, from the scan she tells me Im only 6+4...She then showed me another rounded structure, she couldn't give me a definite answer of what it is whether its another sac or a bleed but just that it was very rounded and demarcated. she suggested possible was/is twins, possible abnormality of some sort or possible bleed but who knows. She said depending on what it is could mean increased risk of miscarriage/abnormalities - this is before she said she thought it may be a bleed. She looked at my ovaries and said I ovulated from the right and there was only 1 cyst visible. She could not see anything inside the structure.

She said it was likely my Dr will send me for blood HCG levels to see if possibly twins (my hcg levels have never been tested) and she said I will most likely be closely monitored to see if it resolves etc.

I don't know what to think has anyone heard of something like this before? After 3 very uneventful pregnancies this has me in a bit of a spin!

Thanks for your super kind words ladies. I'm still in a lot of pain today and this AM was my first seriously dodgy morning. I didn't throw up but I felt it was a definite possibility. Started to feel ok after about 3 hours and ok since as long as I stay eating. Am contemplating ringing GP again about the pain though, its enough to take my breath away at times and I have an awful pain in my back all day too.

Mammacass I hope you are going to be ok. That is definitely a lot to process but hopefully the BW should give you much needed answers. Thinking of you my dear xxx

Maybe its a fibroid in ur uterus mammacass ... they r benign

I know that measuring off this early can just be a matter of the sonographer not getting exact measurements cause the baby is still so tiny. My babies both measured a few days behind at first scan at 9 weeks but by 13 were just right and ahead. I also know that often with twins at first early scans they only see one but even a week later, find two. Hope everything works out, twins or not!
