I am thinking of boys and girls names for the same reason - I might not need them but I sure as heck won't need them after this pregnancy so may as well enjoy thinking of them now.

You have just as much of a chance of pink as anyone, nobody said 100 % did they? I go through hopeful days and doom filled days too. It is normal - we are hormonally unstable LOL.
Nope everyone's been pretty clear that they can't make a guess, but some have leaned pink. Only one gave 60/40 blue lean. Gah!! Sooo frustrating!!! Pretty much 95% not a clue....but pinkish. Hmmm, we'll see

How do you feel about not fitting in the scan? Is it mixed emotions? Been thinking there's no way I could find out & not dh even with his blessing as I do not have a good poker face as he kind of mentioned doing that.

Ladies, I need some input please.

I made my appointment for my 1st "official" scan, which here has to be done between the 9th and 12th week. I had the choice between today and next Monday because after that my doctor will be on holiday.

I went for next Monday, when I will be 11+4, but I was really hoping for something after the 12 week mark for nub guessing, which before 12 weeks is not reliable at all.

So do I ring tomorrow and tell them we are going away and see if maybe another doctor can do the scan in my doctor's absence after 12 weeks or do I keep the 11+4 appointment?

BTW, it is not the NT scan. The NT scan is not offered as part of your routine scans here, you have to pay for that if you want it done.

This one is just the "1st" screening, which mainly involves measuring the baby, dating the pregnancy, ensuring baby is in the right location.

I have already had scans at 4 weeks and 6 weeks to ensure baby is in the right location, so I guess it is just about measurements and dating the pregnancy.

What would you do? I am tempted to make up some excuse why I can't make it next week and try to postpone...

Hello all!! I was able to read when we were at the ILs, but personals were out of the question. I am sure my ILs would have risen an eyebrow or two at the title of this site, although they sure asked when the big scan was several times and if we were finding out gender!

Gaining weight....like a lead balloon! I know that I need to reign in the poor choices now that m/s has seemed to be less of an issue. Oh, to be 14lbs under my "normal" weight

I spotted/bled red again....two times in the last couple of days and there has been no hanky panky that I can blame it on. I have an appt with my MD on Friday, so I am going to bring it up with her. It takes the stress of focusing on gender off....lol, I am just focusing on not seeing red.

Congrats on all the new BFPs!!!!!!

Just a very quick question if I may? Is it normal at 16 weeks to feel movement irregularly? Baby was doing a good jig on Fri but since then I've only felt one kick or so. My placenta is located fine and I felt baby almost everyday beforehand. We have had a busy weekend, maybe that's it? Tia!!

Other than spotting/bleeding this weekend, I could have written the same post!! Lol, this baby was moving all last week before we saw the ILs, but like both DH and I agree, the baby is small and is good at hide and go seek....reg. movement is not as likely as infrequently felt moves!! So glad you have felt movement!!!!!

I love ladybugs-I have a dr appt Friday too at 11am and am also still spotting! My dr reassured me it doesn't really matter the color but rather the amount. As long as it isn't heavy bleeding enough to fill a maxi pad and there is no cramping he said it is perfectly normal. Although blood is never relaxing to see. I have been spotting since week 4 and I am 11 weeks now. Joys of pregnancy! This dr appt is just the regular monthly visit so there won't be a scan but they will try to find the HB on the Doppler. I really hate those dopplers I hold my breath for the 10 minutes it takes them to find the HB!

Lol....about the holding breath! That is what I have done on both of the last time arounds with the Doppler...this little baby has been so different that the older two. I bled/spotted way heavier and more often with them....and I wonder if it has more to do with my heavier weight last time around ie, more estrogen floating in my fat body and now that my fat is gaining faster (seriously, love handle alert!!)...that I am spotting more easier in the 13-16 week mark. I stopped spotting with Ds2 at 10 weeks and Ds1 at 14 weeks, so seeing blood again today makes me feel stressed.

Hope that you have an amazing appt!!!!!

Oh Ladybugs that's such a worry for you. I hope the spotting stops soon. Thanks for the support, took ds2 to the gp this afternoon as he's had a sore willy (turns out he has thrush-NO idea how he got that!) When I mentioned the movement issue to our gp he got the doppler out! He's a wonderful gp, I'll miss him when we move. Anyway it took him a while to find the heartbeat but when he did we could hear it superimposed over mine, how cool! Baby must be in a different position which accounts for lack of movement felt plus my bump looks a bit smaller to me too. At least baby's okay

Ladies with spotting I'm so sorry that must be such a stress. I have heard it can be completely normal and I think particularity if you had it in past pregnancies that resulted in healthy babies you can't definitely relax a bit but I imagine its shocking to see. I've never had it myself but my nurse friend tells me many women do and it can be totally normal.

Dream jeez I really hope the cm thing isn't indicative of gender because I don't have much at all. With ds1 and 2 I remember commenting to dh I had less than before pregnancy and all the websites say you should have more. I joked the mucus plug was plugging everything. This time I've had some but not a lot, although that's perhaps lag from LE diet, as I'm only 6 weeks and have only been off the diet a few weeks. I also found myself still eating similar foods to the diet so maybe that's more it.

I did notice a few of my testosterone hairs reappear just yesterday after a few weeks off diet. Hoping like hell that's just a pg sign for me, not a boy sign. Because with ds 1 and 2 I grew dark hair in the strangest places and it looks like I will this time too. Eeek

It can totally be normal to not feel movement all the time early on. I remember worrying about that with ds2 but being told its normal. Still makes you worry though! I know the feeling. I remember having days even late in his pregnancy where he didn't move much. But even now he's quite chilled. So maybe you just have an easy bub on board!! Ds1 never stopped moving inside or out! Lol.

Hey i'm 6 weeks and seeing flashing zig zag lights across my vision, so bad I couldn't see much at all. Lasted 10-15 mins then I ate a banana and milk and slowly it stopped (not sure if it was a coincidence). I had trouble reading when i was trying to google it. Followed by headache mainly left side. Anyone had this?
