    Yay! Can't wait!!

I just feel fat at this point too (12 weeks), yet I'm losing weight. I've now lost about 14 pounds and I am VERY close to my weight before I got preg with the DD we lost (I gained weight with her) but look bigger than I did before I got preg (this round)..... but my pants still fit... it is REALLY weird lol. They are *starting* to get a bit snug but I haven't had to start using a rubber band or anything.

Wow that is a tough decision bunnygirl. I'm with you - if there is any risk I'd probably just skip it but it's be hard not to know.

I'm trying to decide if I should have more testing done. The girl showed an echogenic focus on her heart yesterday, which is a soft marker for Down Syndrome. She had no other markers, the NIPT said things were fine, as did my quad screen. My doctor said with everything combined the risk is around 1 in 3000. Without the blood work and NT scan factored in the chances of having it are 1.9%. It was over 1 in 10,000 without the soft marker. I was offered an amnio, but declined at this gestation since the complication rates associated in di/di twins are much higher than in singletons. I'm contemplating doing it after I pass viability just to have a definite yes/no, but I feel like chances are tiny she has it. My doctor didn't feel it was anything likely or that we should be worried over. I get ultrasounds every two weeks to monitor growth and placenta from here on out so we'll be able to see if it resolves or not or if there are any other markers. I just don't like the idea of leaving the possibility out there without looking further. I wish this were an easier decision!
I'm sorry you have to worry about that, but I can understand your desire to know. I'm bummed that we'll be getting a less sensitive test because I don't like being caught off guard. We'd never terminate (unless continuing would end my life and the baby's too) BUT if there is something to know we need to know it so we can be prepared, informed, etc. Heck, if it weren't for the risks I'd skip the bloodwork and go straight to getting an amnio (can't get much more definitive than that) but unfortunately, as you said, there are risks. The genetic couselor I've been speaking with (who told me I wouldn't be getting Harmony after all) said we'd discuss it at my appt and decide what's best then so I am hoping there is still a glimmer of hope of getting the more sensitive test (with or without gender info) because I don't like the stats on the basic first tri screening (only 85% accuracy with a 5% false + rate, as opposed to harmony which is 99.9% accurate with only a 0.01% false positive rate... I think that's what I read... either way it's a lot better). With a history of having a child with a chromosomal abnormality, a family history of a child with down's and such I think I should qualify but I guess she doesn't agree :/ So, anyway, my point is that I "get" the desire to know as much as you can know.

Yes!!! I didn't want to find out at first but now curious. I'm thinking if it is the same gender (we have 2 boys) I'm telling everyone that we didn't find out (if we end of finding out). If it's a girl I will want to tell-i think.

12 weeks 1 day! Pants are snug but capable of buttoning if I feel like being uncomfortable. Tight fitting shirts make me look chubby. Haha

No clue why it's coming up sideways. It's all good in my photoshop:/ You get the idea.

Blue Bear, that's pretty much exactly what I look like. I only look a wee bit pregnant at night when I have a slight bump from the food I've been eating for the day. I'll have to try to take a picture tomorrow.

lala22, are you still thinking it's another girl? I couldn't remember but I'm in the same spot, I can still button my pants but I look chubby in slim shirts. I feel like I am spreading sideways not out but my weight is still down. My ms is getting a little better though, I gagged a whole lot less today that I have been and could actually eat a little bit of dinner tonight.

So, I made the leap today and switched to the midwife (the only one in our city of 130,000+ who has rights to practice in one hospital) in my doctor's office. Long story but my family practice doctor pushed me over the edge today. After my doctor sent me an email telling me that I needed to redo the lab work for my Harmony test I drove across town and dropped my kids off at my MIL's and went to her office today (which has a lab) only to find out she is on vacation and hadn't filled out a new Harmony form for me even though she told me the form was waiting for me at the lab (her words written in an email that I showed to them). After talking with the lab tech and her CNA I found out that my doctor (and her CNA) know very little about the Harmony form or the process even though she has ordered the test many times. I can't do the lab work until she fills out a new form and after talking with Harmony I know that while she is trying to blame them for her mistake it really was her not them and I'm disappointed she doesn't really understand/know the form or what is required to be placed on it and that she isn't accepting responsibility for her mistake.

So I walked across her office and made an appt. and transferred to the nurse midwife and I'm thrilled with my decision because it's what I wanted all along anyway, I had just let my doctor try to convince me that she was inline with what midwives do. I found out from the midwife receptionist that she (the midwife) attends all of her patients births personally (my dr. does not, it's whoever is on-call) and she immediately scheduled me for an ultrasound and asked me why my doctor hadn't scheduled one yet especially since date of conception makes me earlier than LMP. Anyhow, sorry for the long story but I'm glad I made the switch though I am pretty bummed that who knows how long it will be before I have Harmony results now.
