Hi girls. Hope everyone is going well, it seems like it's been a bit quiet on here! We had our 20 week scan on Friday, and I was undecided whether I wanted to find out or not...but baby had his/her legs tightly crossed all scan so we couldn't find out anyway. So team green it is for us.

We have our 20 Week ultrasound in two weeks. I am very nervous as the placenta is anterior which puts me at risk for placenta accreta (where the placenta grows into the scar of a previous C-section). If that happens there is a very high likelihood that I would have to have a hysterectomy. I guess it is a relatively low number of anterior placentas that do that... he indicated something like maybe 10% or so. Still... 10% chance of a hysterectomy is freaking me out. Anyone know anything about this or had a friend who went through this? I should probably post this in a separate thread.

I've had 1 c section and 3 anterior placentas and have never had a problem if that helps?!?

The placenta needs to be anterior & low to cause accreta. If you don't also have placenta previa or a low lying placenta, it's incredibly unlikely

Hi ladies. It's been quiet here. I hope everyone is doing well. I go for my elective scan on Saturday. Of course I'm nervous again. I'm prepared to hear that it's a girl, but I still have my fingers and toes crossed that it's a baby boy.

Oh my... FX for you Ghoulina!! Please post an update... I really hope you hear boy!!
Thanks girls... I know it isn't likely that the placenta is low it is just on my mind constantly. Can't wait until the 20 week ultrasound. I haven't been feeling any movement which is a first for me. Does not feeling any movement correlate to placenta location? Hoping that means it is higher than lower.
