“Gl for ttc in october, are you doing le/got a plan from atomic? Really takes the stress out of swaying. You kind of hit the ground running instead of reading every post and getting more confused! “

    Mrs Incredible
congratulations on your work out – sounds like a toughie! As regards your question on Atomic’s sway plans, I am seriously considering getting a sway plan from Atomic. My only hesitancy is Atomic herself has (words to the effect) that the girl sway is about reducing overall fertility (as that sways girls) so if you are older it may be better to just get pregnant rather than worry about the gender. The other thing for me is the amount of dairy to be consumed. I like Milk but I have ibs and follow the Low Fodmap diet. So I basically drink lactose free organic milk and no yogurt or keffir as it is hard to get lactose free yogurt unless you go vegan and frankly I don’t tolerate soy. So with all that in mind I am still mulling it over. At the moment I am just trying to keep my blood sugar down and calcium and magnesium levels up.

Yes, am following LE as much as possible and am 6 dpo at the moment. “

bunnywabbit said”Hi all, just stopping by. DH and I fit into the 35+ category. Makes me a little nervous as this is our first child we're ttc. With maternal years not on my side anymore, my concern is if it takes a long while to conceive the first (7 months so far including m/c) what if we decide to have another but 'run out of time'? I guess we'll be blessed if we have one eventually...”

Welcome bunnywabbit I totally get where you are coming from I am 37 (38 in less than 4 months) and TTC my first child. It is difficult one. I want to sway because I always imagined myself with daughters and do want a daughter more than a son. Wow, I feel guilty saying that! But at my age I do wonder should I just aim to get pregnant as soon as possible and let nature take its course. I do so want a girl but I want a healthy baby of either gender most of all.

Your post about your posts made me laugh Aiden’s Mum good luck with your sway

Aiden’s Mum said” We all fear that but we see older mums conceiving all the time.. I also worry as I am now 40 and everytime I read something about pregnancy on your 40's they make it sound like a very bad idea or that it might not even happen! The secret is stay calm and believe your body will do what it's been designed to do. Good luck"

urgh the newspapers annoy me. I know they have to keep us informed and it is true your fertility declines with age. But I hate the undercurrent in much of the stories that some how older Mum’s are selfish women who choose not to have children when they were most fertile. It is usually so much more complicated than that and it is not fair we have extra stress when as you say we need to stay calm.

Yes, this is where I am right now. A DD would be lovely, but for right now just hoping for a non eventful H&H 9 months soon. I'm aware I am really quite... stressed (not sure if that's the correct term) - family 'differences', living circumstances, work are all part of it. Am trying to wind down, relax and enjoy myself - have some me time and do something I enjoy, just finding it very difficult to get the hang of it. I'm wondering if background pressures, even things I'm not even aware of thinking about are making it a little more difficult for me to conceive. Wondering if by letting my hair down and relaxing it may happen, maybe as a surprise. Would love to throw it all in for a month or so and go relax on a beach...

Have loosened up a little on the sway (still meat free, just dropped RepHresh and cut down on the antihistamines) Open to tried and tested R&R suggestions! Talking of which, has anyone tried reiki? Any good?

I haven't tried Reiki Bunnywabbit, but I have heard Acupuncture is great when ttc. I am going to probably do a six week course before I start ivf. From what I have read it is good for relaxing Mums/Moms to be but also gets the blood flowing to the reproductive organs therefore making conception more likely.
I definitely think stress makes it harder to conceive so anything that helps relax us is great. Apparently Yoga and Qi-gong are particularly good destressers and obviously meditation. I do a little bit of yoga anyway but I think I will purchase Brenda Strong's Yoga For Fertility dvd too as it obviously worked for her. I am also trying to mediate even though I am not the kind of person who finds quieting her mind easy.
Have you tried anything out of the ordinary to help relax you during this time?

Haven't tried anything out of the ordinary, no. Reiki I heard was good as long as I ensure it doesn't do anything to help aid conception directly. Took a few days out of work recently just to do 'nothing' in which started out ok, but ended up sick toward the end.

Relaxation for me at the moment is difficult. MiL has recently left after been over for three weeks - no chance of relaxing then. Work is really hectic and has turned moreso from this week just finishing - I work at the local college and is enrolment time (four weeks worth), so can mean working from 08:30 until sometimes around 21:00. So very *not* relaxing. Am doing what I can to relax on the weekends instead, but DH is sick today, so been running getting meds, etc. in for him and have a appointment for him this afternoon at the hospital, so more tooing and froing... Funfunfun!

I'll get there - thankfully is a long weekend so can catch up on doing nothing!

Is there a special pink sway plan for women over 40? After 2 failed IVF's I Am worried about my ability to get pregnant at all at 41. i have 3 boys conceived naturally at the first attempt, but the last one was over 6 years ago. But, i would like to try for a couple of months to sway before i give up completely. Reading through the posts on swaying has utterly confused me. Are there a few basic things that I can do without overhauling my life?

Is anyone still actively Ttc here anymore? I'm not sure where to post a hello

Anyway I've been Ttc on and off for the last four years with too many mc along the way. I'm am now back to fully Ttc now. I'm hoping and praying for a healthy happy baby, no swaying for me anymore now. I would love a baby girl but a baby is more important to me these days.

I'm now 40 eeekkkk how did that happen! And I have 5 children already so been blessed but would love at least one more!

I've just had my day 3 bloods and day 21 bloods done but waiting to get the results from our drs. I'm also thinking about paying to have my AMH bloods done but unsure how much extra info that's really going to be so waiting for the results of the ones I've just had done.

Well I wasn't here before because we have only just started ttc #3 but I fit in the over 35 category now. I don't know why going from 34 to 35 suddenly makes you feel so much older! Probably because it is always made out to be the age where your fertility suddenly drops (although I know it doesn't work that way!)

Good luck twinkle! 4 years is a long time and it sounds like you have been through a lot. Hopefully it happens for you soon

I conceived my last little girl at 35 and gave birth at 36, I felt ok with the age then, it was the goingn from 39-40 that's really hit me lol. I feel like it's never going to happen now, I will however try to prove to that 40 is still a good age . Good luck on your Ttc journey I hope it's a speedy one!
