I bought it on accident because I forgot mine at home one day and it was just at the checkstand. I was getting the blisters forming and I put it on when I got back to my car and it felt better right away and then went away, the blisters just absorbed and that was the end of it. I haven't gotten a cold sore since that day which I normally get at least one a month if not more (and that was 9 months ago) I think the secret may be the coq10 they put in it so look for one that has that. HTH
