Vitamins and supplements--question!
I was at Costco the other day, and they had a bunch of vitamins on sale. I thought DH was supposed to take B-12, so I got the Super B Complex, but it has a bunch of other stuff in it too. I think most are B vitamins, but I just want to make sure none of this stuff sways girl, or I won't have him take it!
Here's what's in it:
Vitamin C --150mg
Thiamin --100mg
Riboflavin --20mg
Niacin --25mg
Vitamin B6 --2mg
Folic Acid --400mcg
Vitamin B 12 --15mcg
Biotin --30mcg
Pantothetic Acid --5.5mg
WHat is vitamin B for, anyway?2004 2006 2010 2012

I think those are all fine for BOTH you and DH to take.
The B vitamins are involved in a lot of different processes in the body that have to do with cell metabolism. They will help with building muscle and using the other nutrients in your food to maximum advantage.
I ~believe~ that some B vitamins are traditionally part of a girl sway because they may raise progesterone, but the problem with that little theory is that the production of progesterone is part of the SAME process that also makes testosterone and estrogen. It is highly unlikely to me that any of the B vitamins sway pink.!!! Questions?? Check out the NEW and improved Complete Index !!!

Thanks Atomic! I appreciate your response.
My only other concern is the folic acid. My dad is a doctor, so I made sure it was okay for DH to take this supplement as well as a multi vitamin, and he said I should alternate them every other day so DH doesn't get too much folic acid--I guess there is some speculation in the medical community that too much folic acid in men can possibly contribute to prostate cancer.
SO. Should I get a plain B-12 without the folic acid, so DH can take his multi vitamin daily and take the B-12 daily?2004 2006 2010 2012

Hmmm, that is interesting. I've heard some similar stuff about folic and cancer...not that it CAUSES cancer but it ~might~ cause already-existing cancers to grow more quickly.
I think you should follow your dad's advice and not worry about the additional B-12. B12 is stored in the body for some time so even if he's taking it every other day it will still be in his system and will sway blue.!!! Questions?? Check out the NEW and improved Complete Index !!!

I think his words were " may contribute to", so I guess that could mean what you are saying too. I didn't really ask for details (but I will, and I will let you know what he says!). Anyway, I think maybe I will just get a straight B-12 vitamin with no folic acid added to it, and then it won't matter what he takes with it, right?
Thanks for all the advice. I really appreciate that you are so knowledgeable and helpful!2004 2006 2010 2012

Yes, I picked that up in your original post and just wanted to make sure that no one panicked over it. Thank him for the info (and you for passing it along!)

Atomic, this may sound crazy but I’ve been reading about moon phases… I have a ‘red moon cycle’ currently which I didn’t used to have. Meaning my period is coinciding with the full moon. From...
