Does it matter before positive opk?

Atomic, I am TTC boy, my plan is to DTD 2-3 times.
I usually get my first positive opk in the morning, usually with SMU so around 10 or 11am. My question is if I wait to DTD that night and again the next night, would that put me at 2 attempts or 1 attempt? would it be more likely I already ovulated by the next night and that second BD won't count?
I wont be able to fit in a morning attempt because of our schedule and kids, so attempts will have to be at night.

    Or

Would it be better if I start DTD the night before I get that positive opk? I can usually tell by my opks when it's going to turn positive the next morning. If I go by this, I will be BDing 3 night in a row. Although that 3rd night might not count as I think I already ovulated by then?
    Please advise.

If you can get an attempt in the day before pos OPK, then YES by all means do that (unless you're hung up on Shettles)

In that case I'd try for attempt night before OPK, night of OPK, and night after.

We can't know if the night after OPK is too late. Since the average time to O is 36 hours after first positive (and I find many more people are at the tail end - 36-48 hours than earlier than that, if not even more like 72 - it's likely that you're still going to be in the window with the attempt the night after pos OPK day. But just to hedge our bets, as long as you're cool with going against Shettles, I would absolutely have the attempt the day before pos OPK if you possibly can.

    Thank you atomic.
I gave up on Shettles, I conceived DD on O day with 1 attempt only.

Atomic, so here I am and no positive opk in sight. I thought I would get a positive opk CD13 in the morning. I started DTD the night of CD12. CD13 comes and no positive opk but we still DTD thinking it will come morning of CD14. My cervix is high and open so I thought for sure today I will get a positive, it was an almost positive but then went back to light. Nope, here I am writing this to you and it's the night of CD14. We DTD anyways because of my cervix being high and open. So we have DTD 3 nights in a row without any positive opk. Should we skip a day? My cervix is high and open, but no positive opk yet. Is DTD this many times good for blue?

yes, it's good for blue as long as you're in the fertile window. I hesitate to have you skip a day if DH can manage it. I suspect you're going to O at any time now and I fear if you stop now, that will end up functionally being like one attempt...the sperm from earlier will all have died off. I think it's well worth any risk of lower sperm numbers to continue BD now.

If we get to like CD 17 and you don't get a pos OPK then yeah maybe skip a day and resume but I think you're going to or have Oed, maybe will not get positive OPK (this can happen sometimes)
