Technically we shouldn't drink soft drinks due to the high sugar content and how it messes with blood sugar levels, and also the caffeine, which is just not great for TTC in general. BUT ... I know Atomic has said if you're going to have sugar have it with protein, and with the digestion of the protein along with the sugar it won't cause wild swings. 7up and Sprite are good b/c no caffeine. Personally I do still have the occasional soda, because a burger and fries just aren't the same for me without a Coke to wash it down :-)

Thanks begonia for the great answer! You rock!

Soda here and there is ok as long as it's in moderation and NOT diet soda. Do be sure to include it WITH a meal rather than on its own because protein + carbs is what you want for boys...carbs by themselves cause your blood sugar to spike and then drop after you eat them.

That having been said, fruit and vegetable juices are much much better choices for blue, so unless you're really craving a soda it is best to quench your thirst with a nice glass of V-8 juice; or pineapple, apricot, or other fruit juice (except cranberry). If you really love the carbonation, mix fruit juice with a club soda for a boy-friendly drink.

Green tea drinks are also good choices.

    Hi,

I'm new here. I want to TTC for boy by next year and starting my research now. I see that lifting weight is the thing for a boy.

I'm highly allergic to exercise! Seriously, I've never really exercised. Can I jog or does it have to be weight lifting? I don't have the time to run to the gym. :/

    Thanks!

Cardio need not sway girl as long as your diet is good. Atomic has explained this in another post. When I conceived DS, I was doing cardio. But I used to eat like a pig, peanut butter was my favorite.

You need to lift weights or do other exercise that can stimulate muscle growth (squats, lunges, climbing stairs) Straight cardio, while it can build muscle esp. at first, should be done in moderation only and WITH weight training rather than in lieu of.
