    Happy Back after 7 years! TTC BOY

    Hello all!

    I am back! Planing on trying to conceive a boy with my partner in June/July 2020.

    When I was here the first time my ex-husband and I did not conceive.
    He had had a vasectomy reversal and we got our daughter 6 months after that. But learnt while we were swaying for the second TTCB, he had very very low count and it would probably not happen.

    I am happy we didn't have another together it was a very toxic 8 year relationship. Or daughter is amazing though and now almost 8

    Fast forward

    I spent 2 years single and learnt to love myself again and find out who I was and what I wanted in life. I was happy to be alone for the rest of my life not wanting to ever be in a relationship again.

    Then BAM my boyfriend just rolled in all perfect and here we are lol. We have been together for almost 2 years now we took it slow at the beginning just being friends. I am happy healthy and with an amazing boyfriend who is my perfect other piece.

    We have now decided to plan our future try. We are really ok either way but I would like to sway Blue. I have a 19 year old daughter, 16 year old son and an almost 8 year old daughter. He has no kids yet but I know he would love a son.

    We do have a large age gap that in our normal life makes no difference now that we are use to it. Who would have thought we would be one another's soulmates. I am currently 39 turning 40 in July and he is 28 turning 29 in September.

    So I have a few questions:
    My Boyfriend
    I am hoping his age is good for us )))
    He usually takes high doses of vitamin C will this sway?
    Takes a multi vitamin and fish oil.
    He also takes protein powder and pre workout will this sway?
    He goes to the gym 5-6 times a week mainly weightlifting, he's not super ripped or anything just normal I think at about 210 lbs 5'11.
    We normally bed every day or eo day for the whole cycle is that ok to do?

    Me:
    Im hoping my age in NOT bad for us.
    I think I am healthy
    I have been on the pill for 2 years and this is my last pack.
    We want to try July Julyish
    I am 5"6 160lbs I was about 150 6 months ago
    I have been trying to eat 5 meals a day. I was eating 2 maybe 3 before
    I get moderate exercise through dance but plan on doing more weights
    I take a multi vitamin and fish oil.

    Any suggestions or help from atomic or anyone would be nice.

    Hi and welcome back!! Glad you are in a better place now!!

    Most people think high doses of Vit. C sway pink. I'm not sure that's the case, but as a general rule I prefer people stick with about 100% of most supplements, and slightly more Vit. D. So I would have him wean back to about 100% DRV of C.

    What multi is he on?? Some of them are better than others. He needs to be on one without megadoses of nutrients or herbs in them. Many of the herbs (even the ones that are said by some to sway blue) have gotten dreadful results for us.

    How much fish oil and what is the source of the protein in the protein powder??

    I had a baby boy at 39!! Age is really not a strong sway factor at all.

    I'm glad you're coming off the Pill now. It may sway pink so it's good to be off it a few months before trying.

    I would try to just hold steady where you are on weight. No more gain. We've found people who gain too much too fast actually may be harming their fertility and their sway. You probably should eat more normally for now to prevent excess weight gain (unless you can do 5 small meals) 6-12 weeks before you plan to TTC for blue.

    What multivitamin are you on? How much fish oil?

    I with have him go down to the recommended amount of vitamin c.
    He is on one a day gummies.
    Should we be getting vitamin d also?
    Im not sure on how much fish oil or what sours of protein in the powder as he keeps them in his gym bag. He probably gets whatever onside. Is there ones I should be looking for I can get him new kind if this one isn't good. also how much fish oil is correct and I can get him doing that also.

    So nice to here there are "older" mamas. I feel like age is a number I feel younger than I am

    My gain could be to do with the freezing weather and lack of sun here in Canada. But now that it is warming up we can get out more and get more active.

    I was taking the same as my boyfriend but recently switched to Maturna DHA. I am thinking it is low on the folic acid though should I take more?

    All of your advice is greatly appreciated!

    Those vitamins are both fine.

    Give your BF only 500 mg fish oil(if the dose is higher he can have it every other or couple days). I think you should just stick to the DHA that comes with the Materna.

    I do like blue swayers to take more folate or folic acid than that, but for now I'd stick with what is in there. Closer to the time you plan to TTC go to

    Let's add in 400 IU Vit. D for you and 800 for him.

    I prefer whey protein in the protein shakes, and for you guys to avoid soy protein. The vegan pea protein is in between, not my fave but not as bad as the soy. Also, be on the lookout for any herbal components in the protein powder and run them past me as many herbs are bad for our purposes here.

    I found out that he is taking these 3 things. Do you think they will sway? I think its all junk and you should get things from food if you need it lol. He says he is willing to change anything he needs to.

    I am the least sure about the Supernova. That has a couple ingredients I'm not sure about. the other two are ok, but I'm with you I think real foods are best.

    Thanks! I hope you guys are healthy too!

    Choline is not necessary but ok if you want to take it.

    Coq10 100 mg daily is great for both of you, wean off gradually at BFP by spacing doses further and further out till down to one per week, then you can drop it.

    Probiotic is great for blue, take all during pregnancy!

    Vit E should be avoided, just take however much is in your prenatal and no more than that.

    Calcium - however much is in your prenatal is fine, no need for more.
