Vitamins
Hi! I swayed blue and currently almost 7 weeks pregnant I’m just checking if I’m taking the right vitamins. I was taking centrum for my sway changed to pregacare now as wanted to drop the vit a. Also I’m still taking extra folic acid, extra vit d and omega 3 Tablets. Anything I should wean off ? Thank you!

Hi! I’m sure Atomic will come along and confirm this but having read her replies in previous posts I think she recommends “I like to see blue swayers take 1600-2000 mcg folic acid while trying to conceive and then throughout the entire first trimester, at which point you should gradually wean back to the amount in a prenatal)”.
I’m also swaying blue and from UK! Just need to get my HE diet in order and also it’s my first month trying to track OPK after taking vitamins so maybe I will ttc in Feb/Mar cycle…
How are you feeling generally?

Thanks for your reply ! I feel sick a lot to be fair with my DD I had no sickness at all- I know sickness doesn’t define gender so I’m not thinking “it’s a boy because it’s different” I’m just fuming I feel sick when I didn’t last time 😂 I did the diet for about 3 months I honestly feel so fat and disgusting 😅 I gained about half a stone but since I’ve been pregnant I can’t stop eating mainly rubbish as constantly feel hungover and when I’m hungover I want to eat - so I look about 7 months pregnant not 7 weeks 🤦🏻*♀️

Pregnacare actually has more Vitamin A in the form of beta carotene than the Centrum does, but that's your call to make. I hope you are doing that switch gradually over time over a couple of weeks, instead of taking one the one day and one the next, as that is not optimal.'
Please continue taking the higher dose folic till the end of the first trimester and then wean back to the amount in the prenatal by spacing doses further and further out till down to one per week, then you can drop it.
What dose D and Omega?

1000mg omega 3
And 25 vit D
I just switched directly so hopefully be ok- would you change back again or leave it ?

Oh well that's more Omega than I would suggest. I would wean off that GRADUALLY not suddenly till you're taking more like 250 mg instead (if you can't find that, you can take 500 every other day but we get better results with 250 daily.
The D is fine to continue if you want, but you can also wean off, your choice.
How long have you been on the one vitamin?
