Hey Ladies, well cycle number 6 has just passed and with it another BFN. Our 3DS's were conceived withinn 1 or 2 cycles and DS3 is only 18mnths so it wasn't that long ago I was pregnant. I had said that if I get another BFN this cycle I was going to stop ttc, however now that has happened I've talked myself into another attempt!
I have slowly been reducing my sway over the months so now all I'm basically doing is diet and vitex. I had 2 cycles completely messed up when I started taking the vitex which caused short cycles and a very short luteal phase. However, this month my 3rd cycle taking it was more regular with a 12 day LP. I normally have a 14 day LP so I was happy to see it a bit longer than 6 days this month for the first time in ages.
So, I guess my question is should I stop the vitex as well even though my cycle has now shown some normality again. I take vitex from AF to CD10 and found this has worked well as I ovulate around 2 days after stopping it. However, on a couple of the other threads I have read here this morning, many people have said it can work like birth control...yikes!
Anyway, will be happy to hear some suggestions from all you lovely ladies!

It only works as birth control if people take it EVERY day. If you take it AF- O, this does not happen.
I think vitex is fine and safe and have seen tons of people conceive on it (I conceived one of my DS while taking Vitex Af-O). That having been said, I did not conceive when I was taking vitex AF-O (we were not trying very hard, though and I think some months we didn't BD close enough to O.) I stopped the vitex at O in October, then did not take any in Nov. and conceived DD on Nov. 20. I do think the vitex helped me conceive and get DD, and I can't know if it was keeping me from getting pg - but just so you know what my experience was.
Since it's been 6 months, I would go ahead and stop it just to see what happens. It may not be doing anything to you but this way, you'll at least rule out the possibility.!!! Questions??Check out the NEW and improved Complete Index !!!

Thanks for taking the time to reply Atomic! I should clarify I have been ttc a girl for 6 months, however have been taking vitex for only 3 months. The first 2 months of taking it I had a short leutal phase of 6 days, however this month being the 3rd month of taking it, the luteal phase was 12 days. Do you still think I should stop taking it? I've just turned 41 and all I can hear is tick tock.....lol!!
