I understand 1attempt sways girl..I was wondering if I bd and then bd two days after..surely the sperm from 1st bd would get to egg 1st so would be like 1 attempt?

You can BD and then have sex 72 hours after. every 2 days is too close together and ends up being 2 attempts.

I don't understand though. Woukd the 1st attempt not get the egg anyway so another attempt wouldn't get it. So would just be like 1 attempt? Sperm would be waiting for egg from 1st attempt

Attempts 48 hours apart are too close because depending on when the egg shows up, both sets of sperm can capacitate and still be alive when the egg shows up. Sperm lives 48 hours easily, so if you have 2 attempts in that time frame, both batches will for sure be alive still. 72 hours, on the other hand, most of the sperm from the first batch will be dead before the next batch can capacitate. Plus, there's the notion that sperm deposited O-2 and later is much better able to survive because the vaginal environment is more friendly.

To illustrate:

Sex O-2 and O Day, 48 hours apart - depending on the time of day (and you cannot know this since the hour of ovulation is not predictable) both batches will very possibly have time to capacitate and greet the egg upon arrival.

Sex O-3 and O Day 72 hours apart - sex O-3 is not that likely to still be alive when the egg shows up. If the egg shows up on the earlier side (again, we can't know this) then if there's anything left the O-3 will capacitate and make it to the egg. If there isn't then the O Day shot will have a chance.

This is all about just trying to make it more effortless while lowering the chances of having two attempts.
