Olive leaf is NOT a replacement for LR.

    It is OLE OR cranberry

    AND

    LR OR pep tea.

Additionally to this, many people also give their husbands soy milk, but again that is not a replacement for any of the above things, it's a separate thing.

I cannot compare them because different sets of people use them. Most people under 35 use cranberry and LR, and most people over 35 use OLE and pep tea (or nothing)

Should DH and DW be on the LE diet, and if so, should DH use the LE diet for the same amount of time as DW before TTC?

    Thanks!

DH does not have to do the diet. If he wants to cut back or cut out red meat, all meat, eggs, full fat dairy, or even go fully vegan, and possibly add in 12-48 oz. soy milk a day that may help.

Most husbands are not willing to do sway diets and the majority of us have had successful sways without DH's help.

We're not doing ratios as much as we are trying to hit total intake for safe and healthy pre-pregnancy diet. (meaning that I don't want anyone eating 500 cals a day and thinking they're doing a good job becuase they are getting the right % - they need more food anyway!!)

Most people do 1500-1800 cals a day, 40-50 g protein, 30-60 g fat. (and the majority of your pro and fat from vegetable sources)

A large minority need to bump this up to 1800-2000 cals or even beyond that but keep pro and fat intake the same. This is due to excessive weight loss, those who are breastfeeding, who are very tall, or have very active lifestyle and are exercising a lot need more cals.

A very small minority need to decrease to 1200-1500 (no one should ever go under this and to reiterate, this is a TINY minority only a small percent of people should be at this intake) again keeping pro and fat the same. People who are very petite and only eat 1500-1800 cals normally, who have very severe PCOS or insulin resistance, and can't handle any more cals than that, or who have more than 30-50 lbs to lose may need to drop cals to this level.

People who have PCOS should increase protein to 50-60 g and fat to 50-60 g as well while keeping cal intake the same. (this effectively cuts carbs) and get carbs from fruit, veg, and whole grains instead of refined carbs

Low carb vegetables are free for everything, they are unlimited and you can have as much as you want. Do not count pro, fat, or cals in them. High carb veg and fruit you count only cals and not protein or fat. So you have to get the protein and fat intake without counting any fruit and veg (this gives you more noms to munch too!!)

Same with alcohol, it does raise estrogen...of course, IF there is evidence that higher estrogen does sway boy (I think those studies by James and V. Grant suggest so..higher endocrine levels of parents before conception influencing secondary sex ratio or something along those lines), then this would be a factor, but alot of this is guesswork anyway.

Just a thought for someone who is wanting a strict sway maybe, and also suspects estrogen dominance? Est dominance doesn't even have to be out of the normal range, just in relation to progesterone.
Just stumbled on this old question and did want to reiterate that our subsequent results have shown pretty clearly that regardless of theorizing by dusty old scientists, both coffee and alcohol have been very successful for pink sways.

Coke or Diet Coke? This is one of my biggest questions on swaying pink. I know that aspartame is supposed to sway pink but in reading the statistics it looks like the majority of swayers who did not have aspartame swayed pink. I do not usually drink diet drinks, crystal light, or anything containing aspartame. What are your thoughts? If I continue to drink one regular Coke a day, as long as I stay within calorie limits, would that affect my pink sway in a bad way?

As long as you have your Coke WITH a meal instead of between meals, and you do not have PCOS, then it is ok to have it (and count in calories)

I have serious doubts about aspartame. I have seen people get boys (and honestly, MOSTLY boys with the truly cray people - but not sure if that is a side effect of aspartame, or cray LOL) drinking absolutely completely and totally insane levels of it and anyone who is uncomfortable using it, ditch it.

I got my daughter without aspartame after getting my 4th boy with it.
