We don't know for sure because if people are doing the standard LE Diet when they should be doing the PCOS-type diet, that may make them more likely to conceive boys, but this doesn't necessarily translate to those who don't need the PCOS-type diet, if that makes sense.

We have gotten great results with PCOS-type diet BUT the catch is - it's harder to stick to, it is way more expensive, and it will make people lose tons of weight if they don't need to be on it. I would definitely experiment with having everyone try that diet, but those things keep me from doing so.

But you can absolutely use some of the foods - although can you tell me what you think "PCOS foods" even are?

Yes gluten free can be a challenge to combine with the PCOS-type diet, because many gluten free foods are fairly high carb.

I have never been told that I have PCOS; but I have had 3 times in the past 2 years where I may have had cysts on my ovaries. Once it was confirmed, the other two times I had the same symptoms (ovary pain, nausea, bloating) and just figured it was a cyst and waited it out. Not sure if that would even be enough to be considered PCOS though.

I only weigh 100 pounds, I’ve always been petite and have lost 11 pounds on the LE diet since starting it in August (I was 110 when I started, now I keep going back and forth between 99-101 pounds). So I certainly can’t lose any more weight.

I figured PCOS foods were more veggies and multi grain or whole wheat breads. Is this correct? To my amazement I was able to find a gluten free whole grain bread the other day, so I picked that up. But non white flour gluten free items are hard to come by.
I have two sweet little boys, desperately praying for pink this time!

Ovarian cysts aren't neccessarily PCOS cysts though. PCOS cysts have a certain appearance and manifestation and many people get cysts that aren't PCOS related.

Yes I thought I remembered you were having a hard time keeping weight on. It's fine for you to switch to whole grains - but do be aware we've had good results on gluten free diets too. VEgetables are free and unlimited on every version of LE Diet so please feel free to eat those.

Thank you! That’s good to know. I just thought PCOS would be a reoccurrence if cysts. I was starting to get concerned. Thank you for clarifying

Nope, there are several types and most of them aren't PCOS-related.

    Hiya

I just have a couple of questions - I know sugar isn't the best for PCOS, are there any specific treats that are ok? I have such a sweet tooth and I know I'll struggle without a couple of 'better choice' backups!

Also, does it affect your sway if you need to do the diet long term, i.e. a year or more? I struggled with ovulation before becoming pregnant this time so just in case I have the same problem again..

    Thank you!

While we have had some concerns that people may eventually get "used" to the diet and it might not sway as hard, it will STILL sway pink, it just may have a little less "oomph" than it did - and this is entirely hypothetical anyway. Our results have shown that anything longer than 12 weeks on diet (even 6/9/12 months still gets good results)

When you have a sweet tooth try to keep in mind this isn't an all or nothing diet. If you eat something sweet now and then, but are overall eating much less sugar and carbs than you were, it's all good. What I would do is focus on mostly whole grains and fruits and nuts/PB (which are great for quelling cravings) then when yo're really craving something, think about what it is you really want and HAVE IT. Don't try to placate yourself eating an apple and a bunch of nuts and some crackers and then realize you've just eaten 1000 cals of nothing and decide "oh screw it"...then you eat the thing you want plus 100 other things besides.

It's ok but does have a fair amount of carbs in it. So you may want to focus more on getting protein from dairy, eggs, even a bit of meat now and then because depending on the severity of your PCOS quorn may be somewhat too carby for every day.
