    Clomid online

Hi I wonder if anyone can help. I am considering buying clomid from oxford pharmacy online. They do a private consultation with a doctor (I think you fill out a questionnaire and their doctor phones you and decides whether to prescribe)
My question is really what could the implications of this be if I'm ovulating already (which I believe I am according to day 21 bloods) I do have a pcos diagnosis though.
Has anyone taken clomid without monitoring while on it?

I can't sign off on doing it this way but I will help you to take it safely once you get it.

The implications are multiples (particualrly a concern with PCOS) but this is very unusual with a low dose (50 mg). I would never suggest anyone with PCO take higher than 50 without monitoring.

In the interest of full disclosure we did just have a set of triplets conceived on Clomid. The thing is, though, this was a person who was fully monitored and told to TTC that month by her doctor after ultrasounds and everything. So multiples are something that can absolutely happen even with the monitoring.

We only have had just the one set of triplets though (and actually 2 sets conceived without Clomid!!)

I read something about overstimulation being dangerous. Maybe I'd be better trying to see a doctor privately.
    Thanks very much Atomic.

On 50, it is practically unheard of to have OHSS. We've only had one case of OHSS and again, this was in someone who was fully monitored - her doctor upped her dose of Clomid to 150 mg for some reason.

It is always best to get it from your doctor. But the risks are a little bit overplayed IMO.

That's good to hear actually. I might go down that route after all. Will talk it through with my husband.

Thanks so much for taking the time to come back to me.

I take it 50mg is still a good sway?

Yes, 50 is what most take for swaying.

I'm not trying to steer you into a particular course of action, I just want you to be fully informed - the monitoring is evidently in no way a magic bullet to prevent problems (since the two people we had with higher level multiples and OHSS with WERE being monitored) and the 99.9% majority of everyone who took it, did not have either of those issues even without monitoring. Follow your heart.

I read somewhere that taking low dose aspirin can help reduce risk of OHSS too

I'm much more down on the aspirin than I used to be. I do still tolerate people using it if they have to take something ofr ph (better than cranberry) but the risks and side effects are a lot more than we thought and it has not seemed to help anyway. I prefer no one take aspirin unless under advice of a doctor.
