    Struggling to think of any girl friendly meals!

    Hello!

    My first post so please bear with me!

    Me and DH are going to start TTC (hopefully a girl) in January therefore I am going to get my diet sorted out 3 months beforehand.

    I NEVER eat breakfast nor lunch, I basically only eat once a day (5PM ish) this has always worked for me (I think I may have a slow metabolism)

    Does anyone know if pasta with a cheese sauce (zero meat) would be suitable for me? I am trying to think of something that would bring my calories up without swaying blue. I would also have a large bowl of Frosties afterwards (my sweet stuff!)

    If anyone could help I’d be grateful!

    Just eating a bowl of pasta and sweets really is not enough food. Even Atomic will tell you to eat more. Do you know about how many calories you're eating a day? As for meals, anything really is fine within limits. I'm not sure what frosties are? When I did LE, I often I had things like bean burritos or tacos, veggie sandwiches, pasta w/ marinara and veggies, chickpea or black bean burgers, salads, vegan ground "meat" subbed in whatever dinner dish, baked potato, sometimes grilled cheese with tomato soup, really any soup is good, pancakes/waffles. I liked to have candy as well for my sweet tooth. lol

    Lol, Frosties are basically frosted flakes, sorry about that!

    When I say I have a bowl of cereal, I mean a BIG bowl (at least 90g!) And I have lots of pasta too, I’m just worried that cheese sauce will sway blue!

    Thanks for the other suggestions - stops me from going crazy eating the same thing day in day out - especially when you only eat once a day! Lol

    I thought Frosties were fortified cereal? I know that's something to avoid when ttc girl

    Cereal is the ONLY food ever shown to sway blue in a study. Can't recommend that.

    Eating one time a day I already discussed in one of your other posts but you MUST be very, very cautious NOT to try to eat "girl friendly foods" if you're eating lower than normal cals and only once a day (and for anyone reading this who is now super confused, the ONLY reason I am allowing this is becuase this is what she eats anyway. NO ONE else should try to stick to only one meal on LE Diet, full stop! NO ONE!) then you have to take great caution to be sure you're getting in 40 g protein minimum and 30 g fat minimum and that may require meat. So you have to ditch the "girl foods" idea (which does not work anyway) and eat something to be sure you are getting at the barest minimum 40 g protein, 30 g fat, and 1200 cals. I doubt pasta and cheese will get you there, but maybe if you toss some chicken into it.

    I urge you to ditch all things like douching, timing, etc that do not work and cut odds of conception and try to get pregnant as quick as you can. LIke I said, I am not really down with this and only going along with it since you are telling me this is what you eat normally and have gotten boy(s) doing so.

    I believe that variety is very much the key to sticking to a sway diet in the long term - not only for your sanity but also to be sure you're getting enough of all the various nutrients to maintain fertility.

    Hi Atomic,

    Firstly thanks for all of your responses to my questions - I really appreciate it!

    Secondly, if I am successful, this will be my first child, I’ve never even TTC before.

    Regarding my diet, I realise I am an anomaly but eating once a day works FOR ME, I of course don’t advise anyone else to try and recreate my diet. I have to make sure that I pretty much stuff my face for that one hour then wait another 23 hours to do so! We’re not trying anything else other than diet if that helps!

    Agreed and that's why I would let you do a trial run with it to see what happens. Hopefully you'll get pregnant quickly and easily. If not we may want to work on that.

    Are you me? DH and I are talking about TTC in December-January. And I, too, do intermittent fasting and only eat dinner. I hope IF will push me into pink sway territory.

    I don’t know why, I’ve just always done it! It’s so easy for me, I never get the hunger pangs or anything until about 4pm and then I know I’ve got to start preparing my dinner, with a nice sweet treat afterwards!

    Which leads me onto my next query:

    Does dairy sway blue? I ask this as I’ve seen on various threads that a lot of pink swayers glug lots of milk though I’m sure I read a previous post of Atomics which said that she and her DH gave up dairy and they then conceived a DD (please correct me if I’m wrong!) I’ve cut out butter replacing with a vegetable oil spread (flora light) I’ve switched to semi-skimmed milk, I’ve also cut out cheese but I’m finding this hard! I’m also worried that cereal sways blue - I LOVE CEREAL! Almost as much as my DH! Especially the unhealthy sugary stuff! Are there any cereals you could recommend for me please? If not, I will consider switching to sweets (I love milky ways!) however I’m not really a big fan of sweets (chocolate on the other hand... yum!) I also love white toast (4 slices, crusts cut off) then followed by my cereal - I never eat at breakfast time nor lunch but I love breakfast things! Is the reason cereal sways blue because most people eat it in the morning??
