Femara.. risks? Atomic, I need advice

    Hi...
Just took Femara this cycle, went in for monitoring and dr saw two follicles, one in my left side, one in my right side.
I took femara on my own account, cause it was for swaying purposes only.
What should I do? Im worried of having triplets (one of those follicles dividing into identical twins) - but I dont know of thats even possible.
I dont mind having 2 more kids but 3 more kids are a NO NO.

Should I tall my doctor? Should I relax and go with the flow? He says everything looks good and follicles look big and strong.

Is there something wrong with me taking Femara on my own?
Im scared about modifying my destiny.

I already answered this in your other post but just in case anyone else is reading this:

It is NORMAL to have two follicles even in unmedicated cycles. This is not a big deal at all. We have people on monitored cycles who have 4-5 follicles and are told by their doctors to still try and end up either not conceiving or conceiving just one. number of follicles does not mean you'll ovulate that many or that they will all end up making babies. Most docs will want most people to skip those months with 4-5 follicles by the way!! my point is not to aim at 4-5 follicles, but just that sometimes doctors have had people try those months and they still did not get pregnant. Follicles do not mean successful conception will occur.

It's very very unlikely that one of those eggs would split and you'd end up with triplets. Like I say, it's normal to release 2 eggs in normal cycles as well and you don't worry about triplets in that case!

No, you should not tell your doctor. He knows how many follicles you ahve and the fact that you took Femara does not change anything.

I do not think there's anything wrong with taking the Femara on your own. Tons of people do it. It's much safer than many herbal supplements and over the counter medications people take!

I took the lowest dose of femara, and I had 6 good size follicles...no lie. My dr said go for it and I only conceived one Unless you use a trigger shot, you will only naturally release one or 2 eggs. I was so worried about it too! I took femara for recurrent miscarriages, I definitely don’t need it to aid conception and just have one bean in there!

I really was nervous!! Ha! But the way I saw it, is that if I had multiples I had a better chance of one sticking. (I’ve had 3 early losses.) I just had a perfect 8 week ultrasound, so I’m really praying this is it. But, no I’m not sure on gender yet. I will do that NIPT(I think that’s what the test is called) in 3 weeks and will probably know by the time I’m 12 weeks. I want a girl SO bad, but all I can think about now is this baby making, it regardless of gender. I know I will be mostly nervous for the results to make sure it’s healthy!

Femara.. risks? Atomic, I need advice

With my current pregnancy I was on Clomid and had two follicles and we did conceive twins. But it was totally no big deal to my doctor (a fertility specialist) that I had two follicles- she actually said they LIKE to see women (at least in medicated cycles) release two eggs because it just increases the odds of conception in general. But they don’t worry at all about 2 follicles and it definitely doesn’t mean both eggs will be fertilized (or even that both will even release!). I also developed two dominant follicles in another one of my Clomid cycles and conceived one but unfortunately miscarried. Lots can happen!

Whoops just realized your post was from a few weeks ago so I’m sure my response was too late . Hoping you had/have a happy result from this cycle!

    Dont worry! Still helps!
I actually did have an attempt and got pregnant!
But I doubt its twins since 15/16 dpo my betas were 171, when with my singletons at 14 dpo I was about 500.
