Need help - trying to conceive a girl

I’ve been tracking for the last couple of months.

I’m 38 and trying for a girl after 4 boys.

This month I’ve been tracking since day 7 and doing test strips and clear blue ovulation advanced monitor. I have not had bd yet waiting until I get a flashing smiley face.
I am supposed to ovulate tomorrow but I received the flashing smiley face this morning.
The test strips were high it seemed on the 25th but I’m not sure im doing then correctly l.

My question is, should I try the 1 bd tonight or am I pushing it too close to boy territory?

Very regular, AF 5 days with 26 day cycle.
    Me: 39
    DH: 49

Last attempt, praying for a in 2021!

Is there a reason why you want to bd on the flashing and not the solid? I've read that some people get the flashing smile for days and complicates things.

Oh I was assuming you were going to bd on flashing smile. The CB I have goes from empty to solid..I bd as soon as it turned solid. Like you I'm also worried as I got a solid then negative so I'm assuming I ovulated ..just seems boy territory

I have heard that time has been debunked. What is considered is only one attempt at positive OPK for pink. Atomic said she has faith in one attempt at positive OPK. Time doesn't matter anymore, if you read some of her links she mentioned that exercise, diet, coffee, alcohol if you can and clomid or Femara if you can get them and one attempt at positive OPK, thats the things believed to sway pink

The thing is, timing doesn't work. It doesn't sway at all and you can read the full case against it here. https://www.genderdreaming.com/forum...le-timing.html

But that having been said, I understand it's hard for some people to give up on it. If you want to use the "flashy smiley" I suggest waiting for the SECOND flashy because the first one is going to be quite low chances of conception.

Just because your cycle has been regular in the past doens't mean it will stay regular. Disrupted cycles and delayed ovulation is SUPER common with swaying (even without diet or supplements) and it's not at all unusual for people to plan to TTC a certain cycle day only to find out their ovulation is delayed a day or a few days or even a week.

So I'd have your attempt today and that will likely be a 2 1/2 to 3 day cutoff.

You guys always have the option to BD with a cutoff or at positive OPK. Positive (solid) OPK is still for the vast majority of people going to be 1 1/2 to 2 day cutoff, and many times even more like 2-3 days.

Just to clarify here you cannot tell if you've ovulated on the basis of when OPK goes negative. YOu can have ovulated and your tests are still coming up positive, and have a negative test and still yet to ovulate. The hormone the OPK test for is a signal, not actual ovulation. Your body sends a signal tht says "ok ovulate now" and then your ovary decided "ok now" or "in a day" or "maybe in 3 days" or "already happened but still making the hormone". OPK are not the greatest technology but they're the only way we have to ensure we're in with at attempt at roughly the right time.

this is the challenge of the flashy smiley. It's prety common to get more than 2 days of flashy before solid, and also fairly common (not quite, but still common enough) to go straight to peak without getting a flashy at all.

Best to have a plan in place for either eventuality!
