Clomid and Ovitrelle
Hi Atomic, hi girls,
I m swaying pink and I have some questions:
Because of my low AMH (Age 41) and 3 failed cycles HT, my doctor gave me Clomid and Ovitrelle.
I m planing my attempt in July. Starting in June with first cycle Clomid day 3-7. my doctor is monitoring my Folicles.
When it’s the best time to use the Ovitrelle for pink swaying?
I read from a American Professor that women in my age should do the EC earlier (smaller Foliclesize) because of the egg qualities.
Wich size is the best for the Folicle?
And do we BD on the day I used the Ovitrelle or after?
I hope my english is fine
Thank you x

Hi again rosalia! Thanks for posting out here, it's much easier for me to track than PMs are .
You need to follow your doctor's directions on when to do the Ovitrelle. They will be much better able to guide you than me or anyone else online can. You have to do the shot at just the right time to be sure your egg releases properly and your doctor will know the most about when that time is for you - they will look at your follicle sizes and judge when to do the shot on that basis.
For pink, you should have one attempt the day of the shot to start out with. I would give this 2 months and then start having two attempts, one the day of the shot, another the next morning.

And just to clarify, that is NOT going to be Shettles timing. You can't do Shettles timing with Ovitrelle because you won't know in advance when to have intercourse since your ovulation will not be predictable. (but that is ok because Shettles doesn't work anway)

Thank you, Atomic
Shettles timing 4 days before O was my second boy, so I would never try it again. :-)
I don’t believe in timing. I m just afraid that we miss the perfect egg, because there will be no „perfect egg“ unfortunately in my situation - my age...
My doctor said the egg will be fertilized a day after shot... and I was wondering, because for my Icsis we always had egg collection 36 hours after the Ovitrelle.
A day later they told us, how many eggs where fertilized. We always had good numbers, just after NGS most embryos abnormal.
I guess my eggs where just really bad qualitiy..

I understand what you're thinking. The trouble is, that if you give the shot at the wrong time, your egg will not be released at all OR could be released prematurely. It is best to just let the doctors do what they are experts in. Remember, they've done this process for many people and have seen what the results are, and they are in the best position to decide when to do the shot.
It's most likely that your eggs were lower quality from age and not anything to do with the timing of the Ovitrelle. But that is ok! The thing is, natural conceptions are easier to conceive from than IVF since you aren't asking your body to make many eggs. We have lots of people who did not have good results with IVF who went on to conceive naturally.

Just let me know how I can help!
Atomic, this may sound crazy but I’ve been reading about moon phases… I have a ‘red moon cycle’ currently which I didn’t used to have. Meaning my period is coinciding with the full moon. From...
