Does OPK show positive in the day of ovulation?

    Hello everyone
So I already know that OPK shows positive when the LH occurs, but I am wondering if you keep on seeing positive the next 36 hours or so when the egg is released. I ask this question because I only got positive once (one day only). Does this hormone rise only before the day of ovulation or it keeps rising for a couple of days and when we actually ovulate, and disappears after the ovulation is done!! Does it test ovulation or only before.
I am afraid that there is something wrong with my ovulation.
    Thank you in advance

Normally you get the + opk and ovulate In the next 12-48 h. Sometimes women don't ovulate with that LH surge (while breastfeeding you can have several surges and don't ovulate in the end) and have another one later where they do, but that's not so common. You can use opk a few days after your positive to make sure. And by the time you release the egg the opk probably will be negative or less strong.

If you take your temperature you should see a rise just after ovulation. Other signs are a change in cervical mucus.

I don't know if it helped or not. You can Google for examples of opk progressions and see, although every body is different.

It is different for everyone and can be different even in different months.

The LH surge operates independently of ovulation. The surge is a message that your body sends to itself, and once it gets that message it will ovulate on its own timeline no matter what the hormone is doing. This means you can have a test that goes negative before you have even ovulated, or tests that stay positive even after ovulation.

I often compare positive OPK to a message your boss leaves on your door telling you to call an important client. The message is separate from you making the phone call. You could take the message off your door right away and then not call for several days. You could leave the message up for a long time even after you made the call. But the message was still the catalyst for you calling, even if you didn't call exactly at a particular time after getting it, if that makes sense.

I thought that I should get positive on the day of ovulation, too. If not, which is my case, that means I haven't ovulated.

Nope, that's not the case at all, like I'm saying your surge can go away before ovulation.
