Better to wait postpartum?
Hi again! I have found the left/right ovary sex ratio breakdown fascinating, and after rereading a pretty well done study I’m wondering if it may be best to get a few cycles under my belt before TTC and wanted to get your thoughts. Here is a link to the summary of the study that illustrates my concerns pretty well

Honestly, reading that was like a gut punch... I knew of the study from my last sway, but only just realized it notes lactational annovulation

I think I saw you’re swaying blue and still don’t have a cycle, if you get get going ASAP you should be golden! To be fair, most people don’t know and I think it tends to even out over time.

But since I am still not ovulating due to breastfeeding, should I consider waiting two cycles? I love science, so I hate to not consider good data.

If you would like to wait, feel free. But let me just point out that in many, if not most cases, people who are in the best shape with the highest fertility are the only ones ABLE TO get pregnant that first couple months. So a whole lot of people may have been having some kind of period, but still could not conceive because their fertility was not high enough yet - thus it takes them more than 0-1 cycles to get pregnant.
It's really meaningless to say "look, people who got pregnant fast had more boys" because, well, obviously. They're more fertile and they're in better condition. They were able to get pregnant faster because of that, and they were more set for boys also because of that. It doesn't mean that those cycles are somehow magically delicious for making boys. It just means that the people who were able to get pregnant in those cycles are more SET for boys.
Basically, if you were in good enough condition to get pregnant right from the start, and you wait a couple months, you're only gonna be in BETTER condition. That some other people weren't able to get pregnant that fast doesn't make you any less blue friendly!!!! Questions?? Check out the NEW and improved Complete Index !!!

This is not good data. It is misleading data. It is misleading because a whole lot of people cannot get pregnant the first two cycles even when they're having a period. So the group that CAN get pregnant is not a randomly selected sample group, by definition they are selected for being the only people who COULD get pregnant that first month or two out.
If you are a person in good condition who is immediately fertile enough to conceive, and you wait 2 more months past that, you are only going to be in BETTER condition and more fertile in most cases. You cannot look at these kind of numbers as being random, because there's by definition a difference in the group that can get pregnant right away and those who can't.!!! Questions?? 2 weeks before. Keep in mind that many people think they actually sway blue and WANT to be on them for their sway. OPK are fallible. We use them because it's the best technology we have, but...
