    Too many carbs?

What's considered "too many carbs"? I understand for LE it's recommend 30-40g of fat and 50-60g of protein.

For example, my first day of the LE diet was yesterday. I tracked my food in myfitnesspal and my carbs were 132g! Is that too much? Fat was 38g and protein was 30g.

I'm worried about spiking my insulin too much. Thoughts?

Ok, first let's clarify the macros.

For the standard LE Diet it is 30-60 g fat and 40-50 g protein not counting the fat and protein in fruits and vegetables. (most people eat about 1500-1800 cals a day)

For the alternate LE Diet it is 50-60 g protein and fat not counting protein and fat in fruit and veg.

We do not, and never have, tracked carb intake. If you are tracking protein and fat (being sure to eat enough of them) and eating a certain amount of calories, you cannot exceed the number of carbs.

You are assuming that 132 g carbs is high, but a lot of people on LOW CARB DIETS are eating 150 g carbs!!! So you were under the range not only for all dieters but for LOW CARB DIETERS! In fact I'd be worried you hadn't gotten enough to eat looking at that amount. A normal 2000 cal diet, for example, is usually more like 300 g carbs (and many of us with all boys are really eating more like between 3-400.)

Also, I just really want to stress to you that you cannot eat below 40 g protein. This is for your health and your ability to get and stay pregnant. Even if you have to eat a little meat, 30 g protein is not allowed. Some people think "well the important thing is not to go over so I'll go UNDER and then I'll get a guarantee" but that is not the case. The lower macros are actually the most important because it is there for your protection and the ability of your body to get and stay pregnant. Cutting back too far is the WORST thing people do, it causes tons of opposites because then people delay or stop ovulation, and have to go off diet entirely to get their cycles going again - and going from very deprived to eating more will always be interpreted by the body as an improvement in condition.
