    Recurrent miscarriage and progesterone supplements

I have suffered two miscarriages recently, one at 5 weeks and one at 13 weeks. My doctor has ordered bloodwork which all appears normal. She has recommended that I take progesterone suppositories to see if that will maintain my pregnancy. She doesn't think I have a luteal phase defect but because there are no side effects she thinks it is worth it.

Have any of you girls here taken progesterone? what are side effects like?
have you gone on to have healthy babies??

    Thanks!

All of us HT gals use progesterone in some form because we do not produce it naturally when we go through an IVF cycle. It made me a little sick but nothing bad at all...some people put on weight, no symptoms that are worthy enough not to try it to have a baby! Did they test your progesterone levels with the 13 week miscarriage? Did you have any testing done with that baby?

I was also curious to know if they did any testing on the 13 week miscarriage. I am sorry for your loss

What other testing did they do that came back normal?
Sometimes the best thing you can do is not think, not wonder, not imagine, not obsess. Just breathe, and have faith that everything will work out for the best.
^^^That is exactly what I did and everything has FINALLY worked out for the best. I couldn't be more happier in my life than I am right now with these 2 blessings that were brought into my life.

They did test all my levels and all was normal but that was about 3 months post m/c not during. My ob said it wont hurt to try it this time.

With my 13 week m/c they found no reason for the loss, which is so hard bc if i knew why I could fix it maybe and not worry so much this pregnancy.
i had no issues with my first two pregnancies. they were easy and no problems
Since my last daughter i have had the problems.

Hi honey. I take progesterone suppositories also, my doc said the exact same thing, can't hurt and may help. They just make me have exaggerated pregnancy-like symptoms, like super sore boobs and occasional barfiness and the like. I usually break out also, which is my least favorite thing. When I take it, I usually start a couple of days after I'm sure I ovulated, and then will stop if I get a bfn by the day AF is due. Then I'll get AF the next day. I have taken it straight through until I have AF while on it, but it delays my cycle and gives me a 16 day LP versus my usual 13 days.

So, no problems? Hmmmmm.....well, you know lots of ladies have m/c in between children, so don't assume you won't have one sometime. I know it sucks so bad and is even more heartbreaking when you are farther along.

    Big hugs still....xxxooo
