Tips for IVF/PGD for Family Balancing

Can you test(biopsy and PGD) previously frozen embryos?

Yes!  If you have already been through IVF and have frozen embryos from a past cycle, it is possible to thaw and test those embryos for both health and gender.

Watch your Weight!

Researchers found that women classed as ‘overweight’ had a 24 percent extra risk of miscarriage compared with a normal pregnancy, and a 9 percent lower chance of having a baby.

For ‘obese’ women, the risk of miscarriage was increased by 40 percent and chance of a live birth cut by 20 percent.

“The higher up the (BMI) range, the more likely it is that overall success rate will be reduced,” the Daily Mail quoted El-Toukhy as saying.

“To maximise the chance of a successful pregnancy, we are now recommending that women get as close as possible to a healthy weight before starting treatment,” he added.

His Diet Matters Too!

Better sperm quality and hence higher chances of a successful in-vitro fertilization with men who eat plenty of fruits and grains, but cut down on their red meat and alcohol intake, has been reported in a new study.

The study revealed that a poor diet and obesity can lower sperm concentration and affect their ability to swim towards an egg.

In the past, female fertility problems have been linked to obesity as well as smoking and drinking, but it was not clear until now if the same applies to men as well.

The latest study of men with partners, who were undergoing a type of fertility treatment, has revealed that those who regularly binged on alcohol and ate poorly were slowed down on the fertility front, the Daily Mail reported.

Frozen Embryo Transfers May Yield Better Results

Many recent studies are showing that the live birth rate after a planned frozen transfer is significantly higher than a fresh transfer following IVF stimulation.  The clinical pregnancy rate per transfer was significantly greater in the cryopreservation group than in the fresh group. These results strongly suggest impaired endometrial receptivity in fresh ET cycles after ovarian stimulation, when compared with FET cycles with artificial endometrial preparation. Impaired endometrial receptivity apparently accounted for most implantation failures in the fresh group.

Tips for Conceiving a Boy

Here are some fast facts and some tips when trying to conceive a boy-

Timing doesn’t sway.  Shettles got it wrong.

Timing is based entirely on one man’s mistake.

40-odd years ago, Dr. Landrum Shettles (who was actually an incredibly smart man in pretty much every way and did wonders for the cause of infertility), took a look at some sperm under a microscope and noticed something that no one had ever seen before. Some of the sperm had tiny little heads and seemed to be moving faster, while other sperm had big fat heads and were moving more slowly. He immediately concluded that the fat heads HAD to be X sperm and the skinny heads HAD to be Y sperm. He began to perform and publish studies based on this idea, write books, and we STILL can’t get rid of the guy 40 year later.

The problem is, he was TOTALLY WRONG. What he was really looking at, was capacitated and uncapacitated sperm. The capacitation process had not yet been discovered when Dr. Shettles developed his timing theory. Capacitated sperm are sperm that have lost the protective cap at their tip and are all excited about it because it means they’re ready to fertilize an egg. Uncapacitated sperm are bigger and more laid back because they still have their protective cap. Eventually, they’ll lose that cap and be small and move around a lot more too, but they are BOTH X and Y sperm, whether they have a cap or whether they don’t. Sperm capacitate in waves and they seem to be able to communicate with each other on some primitive level to coordinate this process, so as long as there are living sperm present, some will be capacitated and ready to fertilize any cute little egg who happens to show up dateless at the party, and some will be waiting their turn.

Have a Bedtime Snack, Have a Boy

Studies show that eating a bedtime snack and eating breakfast, meaning one never goes more than 8-10 hours without eating, not even at night, results in more boys.

High Calorie, High Protein Diet will Sway Boy

Studies show that it’s not as simple as consuming calcium and magnesium to conceive a girl and potassium and sodium to conceive a boy.

GenderDreaming has developed a TTC a Boy Natural Gender Selection method to help assist those that want to try to sway their odds naturally to have a boy.  This method is referred to as the “High Everything Diet(HE Diet)”.  In short, the HE Diet is a

  • high calorie
  • high protein
  • high healthy fat diet, with
  • high nutrient intake and eating in patterns that are more likely to help keep blood sugar steady.

This diet has a scientific basis using the Trivers Willard Hypothesis.  This research showed that the gender ratios could be controlled by Parental condition at conception.  Trivers and Willard believed that animals and humans would give birth to more males when parents are in “good conditions” and more females when parents are in “poor conditions”.

Conditions means more than just diet. There is more to determining gender than what you eat.

Tips for Conceiving a Girl

Calcium Sways Girl, Right?

Well, yes, but too much calcium can give you a boy!  Supplements are something to be very careful with when attempting to naturally sway for a girl.  Too much of any one supplement, including calcium, can actually give you a boy.

Frequency Strategies for Pink

These strategies will lower sperm count overall, leaving less sperm to go onto the egg. As a result, they may reduce your odds of pregnancy, especially if you are doing a lot of other things to sway. If you cannot get pregnant, you have zero shot at your DG. Remember, there is no law that says you HAVE to include any of these things in your sway, so if you’re in a big hurry to get pregnant or something just doesn’t feel right for you as a couple, keep in mind that you always have the option to forgo any sway strategy – there is no ONE way to sway but the idea is to combine timing with frequency to conceive a GIRL.

Low Calorie, Low Protein Diet will Sway Girl

Studies show that it’s not as simple as consuming calcium and magnesium to conceive a girl and potassium and sodium to conceive a boy.

This best, most comprehensive method of Natural Gender Selection is referred to as the “Low Everything Diet(LE Diet)”.   The LE Diet does not involve mineral balancing, pH of foods you eat, and there ARE NO forbidden foods on this diet (there are a few foods that you may want to avoid, but even those are not make-or-break) It is the overall totals of the day that count, not any one magical food.

In short, the LE Diet is a

  • low calorie,
  • low protein,
  • low fat diet with
  • nutrient intake kept on the low side and eating in patterns that are more likely to help keep blood sugar low.
